Westlife is one of them. As a boyband fan who always looked forward to Brit List (in my adolescence, YTV had a music countdown show called the Hit List, and the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aeneKAjX1o">Brit List</a> episodes were focused on music videos from popular artists in the UK)...Bryan, Shane, Mark, Kian, and Nicky were an important part of my life. I had posters from imported Top of the Pops magazines that I bought at Chapters. I had every album. I listened to every song over and over again. Though years have passed, their music, old and new, has continued to be a meaningful part of my life. I've spoken here on <i>the creation of beauty is art.</i> in the past about being bullied and feeling like an outsider in my younger years. Back then, music was my safe place...my escape. I suppose it still is. Which is why it was so exciting that Westlife recently embarked on a small North American tour for the first time. It was promoted as a St Patrick's Day Special. Ready to find out how it was? Unfortunately, my mom was unable to attend the concert as planned due to an injury, so someone stepped in last minute. All that said, the concert itself was excellent. Sadly, there were only three of the remaining four members of Westlife present, because Mark was ill. That was a disappointment, but it was wonderful to see Shane, Kian, and Nicky. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXn6WiK2AD5rP8DnybTgpYnjQ82Hb136s4dYmZxZ0hS6PsgIltiC9r3xmHNVoeekyjaVIf3Kuu_Poio5UxBW2s5IX0yCNs9i0pToTrIcfozXyDw5y6uo252skWHnschd-BLCYqKFNVy7sgcDSSK3Dg3C9-8B1NVn78L00vYsj4wdVsejYX4e955Y5iPiQ/s986/westlife3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="935" data-original-width="986" height="606" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXn6WiK2AD5rP8DnybTgpYnjQ82Hb136s4dYmZxZ0hS6PsgIltiC9r3xmHNVoeekyjaVIf3Kuu_Poio5UxBW2s5IX0yCNs9i0pToTrIcfozXyDw5y6uo252skWHnschd-BLCYqKFNVy7sgcDSSK3Dg3C9-8B1NVn78L00vYsj4wdVsejYX4e955Y5iPiQ/w640-h606/westlife3.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>The show opened strong with Starlight, one of my more recent Westlife song obsessions. From there, it was a mixture of singles from the band, including Fool Again, If I Let You Go, and My Love for the first mini set. The second mini set was entirely composed of Abba covers. Honestly....that was my least favourite part of the concert. I love Abba music a lot, but I was there to hear Westlife sing Westlife songs, not Abba songs. It seemed strange to devote so much time to the discography of another band. Especially since Westlife has twelve albums of their own and has never performed in Canada before! Ah well. At least there was the third mini set, which included a mash up of some of their biggest hits as well as full versions of World of Our Own and Flying Without Wings. The encore was Hello My Love and You Raise Me Up. Though I would have made some changes to the set list, if given the chance, the concert was excellent. The band had a ton of energy and sounded <i>fantastic</i>. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR2p5fdCvoBCZphLaLzi7sgE5FLJEKHELMp6OXXo0CbrA6FmUXVK3E0oUTGqTytEmDojMe4zwtVvY0N86fDwF3hHq-j81MZwAsek05HR5wEfBAkrb_LoIYODME6Bq3zEZiyjSlCBSl-YnTb1AzS9c-i-gcvAjOUmwQJzVGMMg08xX2bEkb4GKPqaMr9p2t/s879/westlife4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="734" data-original-width="879" height="534" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR2p5fdCvoBCZphLaLzi7sgE5FLJEKHELMp6OXXo0CbrA6FmUXVK3E0oUTGqTytEmDojMe4zwtVvY0N86fDwF3hHq-j81MZwAsek05HR5wEfBAkrb_LoIYODME6Bq3zEZiyjSlCBSl-YnTb1AzS9c-i-gcvAjOUmwQJzVGMMg08xX2bEkb4GKPqaMr9p2t/w640-h534/westlife4.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>Since the concert was promoted as a St. Patrick's Day Special, it only made sense to embrace my Irish heritage that night. I wore a green Ireland sweater and tried to create an appropriate <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/03/fotd-st-patricks-day-inspired-makeup.html">makeup look</a> for the occasion. I went with olive green, gold, and shimmery brown. I didn't want anything too dramatic that would pull attention from that bold green sweater. As for how I will be celebrating actual St. Patrick's Day? It will be a much more low key celebration than in previous years. (I actually came down with something shortly after the concert and have been fighting a vicious cold ever since.) So, there might be some TV shows and movies in my immediate future. Nothing really beyond that! Westlife was my St. Patrick's Day celebration this year.</div><div><br /></div><div>Have you been to any concerts lately? In fact, it is only a handful of days away. What a thrill! Normally, winter is my time to shine, because I love grey days and staying indoors. Unfortunately, this particular winter was a little more difficult, as it seemed impossible to shake away those winter blues. Perhaps a change of season will do me good. Lately, I have been thinking a lot about flowers: all of the beautiful colours and fresh starts. Here is a little inspiration as we drift closer and closer to spring.<div><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxNBA-EnBZBIF354Yh_ePD5H_lge-lpBSxvpO-oS34MJZwa-UYFiPICm4uCqcD2tJzl23PWYSMdrX2cJ7yhJqk8oaVYvEIEL75KL_rHZVnN2pvDMSWaCLI5cQnNh3hC2kdvonctPV3UFGIpQ8hE06m8FaC3CnXTTo1yN0Ee_vRPdqXOJ1kyHKSY1sCa3RP/s1288/flowers3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; The reason? Different Morphe <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/07/3-looks-1-palette-morphe-x-nyane-fierce.html">eyeshadow palettes</a> continue to appear at Winners for a fraction of the price. I like makeup and I like makeup at a discounted price. It is a win-win. A little while back, I came across the 35A Up 'Til Dawn Artistry Palette from Morphe for $25 CDN. With 35 different eyeshadow shades to choose from, this was an exciting find. Ready to take a peek inside? Find out how the eyeshadow palette performs? Here is everything you need to know about this beautiful (and discounted) release.<div><br /><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicSlMW6u5VSURI_hr35bMTDkEhPNN47VPzSnLRccfPV6n0YO-PaAeqALTAayYIZrUtPg7N9oSoxNreenWtXvjcJE2sZOqlD9fkqF50DWrEg9FdSmkHFeabZeka2tMDix6DC-94VfVqqlTKsOGqcQELqbGcsnplR-OCqmy7d9U2kIlzztU7lUbxuQ_ugotc/s888/morphe3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="634" data-original-width="888" height="456" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicSlMW6u5VSURI_hr35bMTDkEhPNN47VPzSnLRccfPV6n0YO-PaAeqALTAayYIZrUtPg7N9oSoxNreenWtXvjcJE2sZOqlD9fkqF50DWrEg9FdSmkHFeabZeka2tMDix6DC-94VfVqqlTKsOGqcQELqbGcsnplR-OCqmy7d9U2kIlzztU7lUbxuQ_ugotc/w640-h456/morphe3.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>The brand describes the <a href="https://au.morphe.com/products/35a-up-til-dawn-artistry-palette">35A Up 'Til Dawn Artistry Palette</a> as "Bold. Bright. All night. Keep your artistry energized from dusk until dawn with a tropical inspired palette shimmering with a romance of 35 rich, buildable, blendable neutrals, greens, and pinks. Transition from natural, matte effects to smoked-out looks and vivid, glowing vibes that light up when the sun goes down." Yes, this tropical inspired eyeshadow palette has lots of beautiful colours to choose from. I really love the warm neutrals (especially the almond and terra cotta shades) and all of the gorgeous greens. And then all of the beautiful vibrant pink colours! There is a lot to choose from in terms of the colours and finishes. I like that there is a combination of matte and shimmer...and that there are light, medium, and dark shades. It is possible to create many different makeup looks using this ultra versatile eyeshadow palette. The bold and fun colour story makes this eyeshadow palette a real winner.</p><p>The palette packaging is standard and essentially the exact same as other <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2019/12/fotd-feat-morphe-39s-such-gem-artistry.html">Morphe eyeshadow palettes</a>. It is fairly sturdy cardboard with a design on the front that looks like a rippling water and the reflection of a tropical plant. It is cute but simple. On the inside, there are eyeshadow names printed underneath each eyeshadow, which is always a bonus. I love when companies take the time to name each eyeshadow and it is always preferred when the shadow names are printed on the actual packaging. The colour story? Amazing. The variety of finishes? Fantastic. The packaging? Decent. As for the actual quality of the eyeshadows, this is a really impressive release. Some Morphe palettes have some inconsistencies, where most of the eyeshadows are really great but a handful are not as impressive. However, all of the eyeshadows in the 35A Up 'Til Dawn Artistry Palette perform well. These are colourful, easy to use, and blend well. Ready to see some of them in action? </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKRltGsDHwqYa_8DJixAY5QDUY9JEBqbxIJKn8eCNWLAGQAZRsshBpCMxZ1Z4Xkktlu5OpIUMs75VQtw4iHAPbuYdPmP65CFBHzjPKf0PEf3gvZrK-_LGGULpJzOfvK0zwXDcFBdSgv1WArrQLCm0rBl8_wKl1G2gtPtkHirO9KIcjgNvr57Nci5XLpdZe/s894/morphe1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="722" data-original-width="894" height="516" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKRltGsDHwqYa_8DJixAY5QDUY9JEBqbxIJKn8eCNWLAGQAZRsshBpCMxZ1Z4Xkktlu5OpIUMs75VQtw4iHAPbuYdPmP65CFBHzjPKf0PEf3gvZrK-_LGGULpJzOfvK0zwXDcFBdSgv1WArrQLCm0rBl8_wKl1G2gtPtkHirO9KIcjgNvr57Nci5XLpdZe/w640-h516/morphe1.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>For this particular makeup look, it was all about those beautiful pink eyeshadow shades. Private Sweet was blended through the crease and then Dance Hall was applied all over the lid. The outer corner was deepened slightly with Flame Desire and then the pink shimmer, Cha Cha, was applied in the center of the lid for a little extra shine. 2AM Gem was added to the inner corner and underneath the brow bone for even more sparkle and shine. Curious about the other shadows in this palette? Not to worry....there will be a 2 looks 1 palette post dedicated to the 35A Up 'Til Dawn Artistry Palette in the next couple of weeks. That post will feature some of those fabulous warm neutrals as well as those amazing green eyeshadow shades. </p><p>This eyeshadow palette stands out for all the right reasons. The colour story is fabulous and I love how many makeup looks can be created using the bold and unique shades. The 35A Up 'Til Dawn Artistry Palette from Morphe is seriously stellar.</p><p>What do you think of this eyeshadow palette? It is an exciting time for fashion lovers and celebrity enthusiasts alike. Emma Stone recently turned heads at the 2024 BAFTAs, where she won an award for Best Actress thanks to her role in Poor Things. I have to be honest....I did not like Poor Things. At all. Controversial opinion, I suppose, since Emma is receiving tons of praise for the role. My friend and I saw the movie at the theatre on the opening weekend and it was such a terrible experience. I did not like the cinematography at all or the sexualization of the character, particularly in the early portions of the film. I understood what the movie was going for, but to me, it was an unpleasant watch all around. I was thrilled when it ended. I love Emma Stone in general and she was the reason I wanted to see the movie in the first place. Unfortunately, it was not something that I enjoyed. As for her red carpet look, it is time to find out if it is a <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search/label/love%20it%20or%20leave%20it">love it or leave it?</a> <div><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgifrd02Y5-QJHu8N39Yj1IlWFp6XKmhKAsIIDY20ujtLwYYvufam9L1lw2l5aYQ3ZqWVJgqUas4pu2c6gtf1ehbSULYkcoNgqPTJLb49922BkGP6SXMManDeBi7taekoE8pv3WDmb1CylOj27K-2-O2PsbPSOx3dqkez71saNVazUdPzxLaxAMBsTQWJ0r/s966/emma2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="966" data-original-width="652" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgifrd02Y5-QJHu8N39Yj1IlWFp6XKmhKAsIIDY20ujtLwYYvufam9L1lw2l5aYQ3ZqWVJgqUas4pu2c6gtf1ehbSULYkcoNgqPTJLb49922BkGP6SXMManDeBi7taekoE8pv3WDmb1CylOj27K-2-O2PsbPSOx3dqkez71saNVazUdPzxLaxAMBsTQWJ0r/s16000/emma2.png" /></a></div><br /><div><b>What I Love: </b>This dress is apparently a custom made one from Louis Vuitton with a silk bodice, chiffon skirt, and quilted band. It was intended to nod to the style of the character in the film. So...what do I love? The colour of the dress is gorgeous and looks absolutely incredible on Emma Stone. I love the dramatic puffed sleeve and the upper portion of the dress. The drama and the beading is over the top in the best possible way. Her hair, makeup, and accessories are also wonderful. </div><div><b><br /></b></div><div><b>What I Loathe: </b>Well...I hate the rest of the dress. As beautiful as the top portion is, the bottom is not my favourite. I don't like the sheer fabric with the quilted bottom. It just doesn't seem to mesh well. Normally, I like a little contrast, but this isn't working for me, especially with everything going on up top. It's a lot to look at. To be honest, this whole outfit feels like a total miss. I love the colour of the dress and the dramatic sleeve, but all the pieces fail to come together. It is such a shame!</div><div><br /></div><div>So...love it or leave it? This is definitely a leave for me. Though the colour of the dress looks fantastic on <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2021/06/love-it-or-leave-it-emma-stone-cruella.html">Emma Stone</a>, the actual design feels off. It is so heavy and structured on the top, then sheer and flowy in the center, and structured again at the bottom. I really want to like this look, but I just don't at all. Kind of like the movie she won the award for, actually.</div><div><br /></div><div>What do you think of this red carpet outfit? So, this is just a brief post to let you know that there will be a mini blog break here on <i>the creation of beauty is art. </i>You can expect to see new posts here next week. Currently, I am on a family vacation in Walt Disney World. This is the first time the whole family has visited there in several years. I am excited, because I love all things Disney, but nervous, because leaving the comfort of my home has become a stressful experience since the pandemic. Fingers crossed the trip will be fabulous and I will return home with lots of fun photos and stories to share. Until then, here is hoping you all have a wonderful week. <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSk13nnawiRgDJBjeP364Q3Svvb0Khsj6ZY4y9TTu0XTldNnCV96BeabInofxv0QN-RMPTQMGlJ8NOzF4d9nPzGsusuxeju5j9kK7gMZg_BNC9XIG0E5vsNesrEontpaDenANuqujqetHsbsnbXkyHdXKiToR5Y2U9pdznrPi49OyX2wJLkFv-iU_auudr/s292/xoshannon.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="85" data-original-width="292" height="85" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSk13nnawiRgDJBjeP364Q3Svvb0Khsj6ZY4y9TTu0XTldNnCV96BeabInofxv0QN-RMPTQMGlJ8NOzF4d9nPzGsusuxeju5j9kK7gMZg_BNC9XIG0E5vsNesrEontpaDenANuqujqetHsbsnbXkyHdXKiToR5Y2U9pdznrPi49OyX2wJLkFv-iU_auudr/s1600/xoshannon.png" width="292" /></a></div>the creation of beauty is art.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00631784690728820368noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2900273068993455035.post-16768425892445111652024-03-01T08:00:00.000-08:002024-03-01T08:00:00.134-08:00recent non-beauty favourites (movies, books, television shows)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivi3j9BYhyphenhyphenPKthMnZU3BLvjrD0eCPmJ-qA13yNR6tFIxvSUoFYPsiQFA9IkTEkPWiULTJOowBMVE6xfcQcLUauny7cxAK5XtQVzQDQIh_yHxYvrlUZ-knV06DQ8mVzO9MGl1jJW0_dETt2qc0Fjq9kQv7dCiD9fad_VBZiED4N2_RcmWY3y5OyZjEi1_L2/s1069/fav1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="719" data-original-width="1069" height="430" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivi3j9BYhyphenhyphenPKthMnZU3BLvjrD0eCPmJ-qA13yNR6tFIxvSUoFYPsiQFA9IkTEkPWiULTJOowBMVE6xfcQcLUauny7cxAK5XtQVzQDQIh_yHxYvrlUZ-knV06DQ8mVzO9MGl1jJW0_dETt2qc0Fjq9kQv7dCiD9fad_VBZiED4N2_RcmWY3y5OyZjEi1_L2/w640-h430/fav1.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>A new month is here...and that thrills me. These are some of the <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search/label/books">books</a>, movies, and television shows that have brought me joy lately.</p><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCbqOTeW5Kaf8uumUA2F8DYRDkyDnrX4woTDJyo8Vcgc_YZuael7uFhHBzbNhbkaXZ-328HsL1zLkFobn3Eg-e_B6dE7dMCPEexaJ0Rg2LlCHj9Hi_4UkeaxHkVe0sk23fvDsmXsjJlYGvQ8U9qPvssZ2M0TQXFVc7sN5T-qBzubb2U7eo41obobt3wn0m/s1358/fav2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1020" data-original-width="1358" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCbqOTeW5Kaf8uumUA2F8DYRDkyDnrX4woTDJyo8Vcgc_YZuael7uFhHBzbNhbkaXZ-328HsL1zLkFobn3Eg-e_B6dE7dMCPEexaJ0Rg2LlCHj9Hi_4UkeaxHkVe0sk23fvDsmXsjJlYGvQ8U9qPvssZ2M0TQXFVc7sN5T-qBzubb2U7eo41obobt3wn0m/w640-h480/fav2.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><b>Movie: One More Time. </b>I recently watched <a href="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3662066/">"One More Time"</a> on the Roku Channel and loved it so much that I immediately ordered a DVD copy. It is essentially about a dysfunctional family where the father is a famous crooner obsessed with holding onto his fame and status. It focuses on how his actions have impacted his daughters. One reacts to his choices by being stable and structured, while the other struggles to put down roots and feel secure. It is a powerful movie, but doesn't feel too heavy handed either. The cast was impressive and I loved the musical moments. This is definitely one to add to your watch list.<div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGxoj9OyoK6FbSrCShNA6gRVbWqVmtgbkpo5aDuF8Z2DdruAmT-EDQxV4S0qeMpCHATdj7WwaX-sYNRomN1WLjqA9iA0pG1K1AhbRUZFuGmmZKEhFxIUAClHZPmp2S0T6YkABHTGUPFjeDeAUF6dYDW6hdDM3RtyIdx98moTppbVEGHgJxOyP5m16Wzq9/s953/fav3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="510" data-original-width="953" height="342" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGxoj9OyoK6FbSrCShNA6gRVbWqVmtgbkpo5aDuF8Z2DdruAmT-EDQxV4S0qeMpCHATdj7WwaX-sYNRomN1WLjqA9iA0pG1K1AhbRUZFuGmmZKEhFxIUAClHZPmp2S0T6YkABHTGUPFjeDeAUF6dYDW6hdDM3RtyIdx98moTppbVEGHgJxOyP5m16Wzq9/w640-h342/fav3.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><b>Books: Louise Hay and Sue Minix. </b>Some other favourites are a few <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2022/02/recent-reads-mysteries-biographies-and.html">recent reads</a>. The first is "I Can Do It," by Louse Hay. As I mentioned, the January blues and February blues were in full effect, so I was trying all sorts of things to pull myself out of that state. This is a book of positive affirmations that I have read a few times before, but it is nice to come back to whenever I am feeling low. It really did the trick and reciting the positive affirmations made me feel so much better. It just put a lot of things into perspective and gave me hope for the days and weeks ahead. The second recent read is a book called, "Murder at the Bookstore," by Sue Minix. This is a book that my husband gifted me for Christmas (along with the next in the series) and I absolutely loved it. This cozy murder mystery was action packed and the main character was <i>fantastic</i>. I loved her sass! </div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhDPY9OoNnxUKrYL7_R2WMj_pL5K126U_M9gWIJsyIfEEI7y-8A0ndZGECPDOm3UfhU92n9NeI7ne3cewNgpp2Y5295Dn_UOJMqKCpPj4coaVLIwbWaWWBs4WK83YNVxm_9aRnzEY9FHEL_qngEvaxlS8opfimELU7GOvxv-3GTPGWHVvLqtkhhZ3PFNd_/s975/fav4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="369" data-original-width="975" height="242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhDPY9OoNnxUKrYL7_R2WMj_pL5K126U_M9gWIJsyIfEEI7y-8A0ndZGECPDOm3UfhU92n9NeI7ne3cewNgpp2Y5295Dn_UOJMqKCpPj4coaVLIwbWaWWBs4WK83YNVxm_9aRnzEY9FHEL_qngEvaxlS8opfimELU7GOvxv-3GTPGWHVvLqtkhhZ3PFNd_/w640-h242/fav4.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><b>Television Shows: Love Is Blind and Terrace House. </b>At this point, the only reason I have a Netflix account is to watch reality television shows. The first is Love Is Blind. I recently watched Love Is Blind Sweden, rewatched Love Is Blind Japan (the best one), and season six of Love Is Blind USA. I love all of the hope and all of the unknowns! Something else that I have started is Terrace House: Boys and Girls In The City. After my Love Is Blind Japan rewatch, my suggestions were all Japanese reality television shows, so I decided to start with the first season of Terrace House. It is kind of a mix between Big Brother and The Real World. I find it fascinating! I like to see how people interact with one another. There are a lot of episodes and a few different seasons available, so this is one show that I will be watching an awful lot of over the next little while. <br /><div><p>What have you been watching or reading lately? Finding a good concealer to replace an old favourite? Even more difficult. I absolutely adore the <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/05/hard-candy-essentials-haul-glitter.html">Hard Candy Glamoflauge Full Coverage Concealer</a>, but it is becoming harder and harder for me to find. At the stores around me, the Hard Candy displays have either been removed or reduced, and there are rarely a lot of products to choose from. I stock up whenever it is possible to do so, but I never know whether it will or will not be available. Talk about frustrating! My husband suggested I try something from another brand so I have a different option, should the Glamoflauge Full Coverage Concealer not be available. After browsing the displays at the drugstore, it was the Elf 16 Hr Camo Concealer that I decided to purchase. How does it compare? And is it a viable alternative for my beloved Hard Candy concealer? Keep reading to find out...</p><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje_MQsMv2Yzt3prZNhLKUKwo6HaZnJgOFzbi_T2NhtLZBLDOxRHR1LCK0Y8LI2CpzCoP-JjJLL2FgvEcYXdxWBlkD7PtDEcWJ4rOhhyaBeI-qOZ3LBt_T6GRJOH_L8jdloo47-nQnG7ImAs0MXqSHtFCjHEPxWBUYhibYw3HKz-yu83uJnjG4RrsBrX0Wa/s960/elfcamo2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="706" data-original-width="960" height="470" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje_MQsMv2Yzt3prZNhLKUKwo6HaZnJgOFzbi_T2NhtLZBLDOxRHR1LCK0Y8LI2CpzCoP-JjJLL2FgvEcYXdxWBlkD7PtDEcWJ4rOhhyaBeI-qOZ3LBt_T6GRJOH_L8jdloo47-nQnG7ImAs0MXqSHtFCjHEPxWBUYhibYw3HKz-yu83uJnjG4RrsBrX0Wa/w640-h470/elfcamo2.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>According to the brand, the <a href="https://www.elfcosmetics.com/en_CA/16hr-camo-concealer/85841.html">Elf 16 Hr Camo Concealer</a> is "a crease resistant liquid concealer that provides a matte finish and full coverage for up to 16 hours." It is full coverage, matte, and has a large doe foot applicator. Additionally, the product is suitable for combination, dry, and oily skin types. What I really like about this particular concealer is the fact that undertones are considered. There are options for all sorts of different undertones, which makes it possible to find a good match. One of the reasons I love the Hard Candy concealer is because it matches me well and offers full coverage. Thankfully, with the different undertones available, the same can be said for the Elf concealer. So many times, face products have the wrong undertone or oxidize as time passes. The Elf 16 Hour Camo Concealer is a match for me and it stays that way all day long. I chose the shade Fair Rose, which is described as fair with pink undertones. There are 24 options available, so Elf offers a decent shade range. <div><br /></div><div>The Elf 16 Hr Camo Concealer colour is a match and looks similar to the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Full Coverage Concealer, but how does the product itself perform? It is also similar to the Hard Candy concealer, though there are some slight differences. The coverage level is close to the same, but more of the <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search?q=elf">Elf product</a> is needed to achieve the finished look. The consistency is also a little bit thicker. That being said, this product works really well and is similar enough to the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Full Coverage Concealer that it will be what I reach for whenever it is difficult (or impossible) to find my usual favourite. </div><div><br /></div><div>Have you tried the Elf 16 Hr Camo Concealer? It's a special place where your dreams all come true. </i>Many S Club 7 songs impacted my life as a teenager for one reason or another, but "Reach" was a song I turned to when I felt especially misunderstood. High school was rough for me and though I had friends, I was also bullied, mocked, made fun of, and felt deeply uncomfortable in my own skin. The more I was bullied, the less I thought of myself, and the more I longed for escape. S Club 7 was that escape for me. Watching the television shows, the specials, the movies, and listening to the music made me feel like I was part of something...like I had this giant group of friends who would protect and stand up for me. I often imagined S Club 7 walking the halls with me and putting those bullies in their place. I imagined being part of the "club" and feeling confident and happy. Though the band obviously never saved me from the cruelty of the world, their music made me feel much less alone in the midst of it. <i>When the world leaves you feeling blue, you can count on me. I will be there for you. </i>Needless to say, hearing S Club 7 perform "Reach" live (along with many other favourites) was a dream come true. Five members of the band reunited and brought their <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSoYiZuWqJM">"Good Times"</a> tour to Meridian Hall in Toronto recently...and the night was everything I hoped it would be. </p><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNI4haawUo5SAu0bMqb1pzhlZH7QZAv0J0kmO-5cyTWLVK8ohx387cecUesU9aJjqrQdYyrG6RKpGiTwYBpKSuixf_fdAD_2QsafLns8Rk8jTH2-bGmcRhGd_n4oIvRwsiNxkJxIsYuUwZ8qx4SwrkKnOScgRdX7gGzzknel1TGZbIyTXrzgZOrfL0v6l9/s1083/sclub2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="824" data-original-width="1083" height="486" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNI4haawUo5SAu0bMqb1pzhlZH7QZAv0J0kmO-5cyTWLVK8ohx387cecUesU9aJjqrQdYyrG6RKpGiTwYBpKSuixf_fdAD_2QsafLns8Rk8jTH2-bGmcRhGd_n4oIvRwsiNxkJxIsYuUwZ8qx4SwrkKnOScgRdX7gGzzknel1TGZbIyTXrzgZOrfL0v6l9/w640-h486/sclub2.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>Clearly, I have been an S Club 7 fan for a very long time. I saw them at Much Music when I was in high school and then saw three members at a <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2019/07/90s-nostalgia-concert-90s-inspired-ootd.html">90s concert</a> a few years back. This time? I was able to see five members perform a full concert. It was such a blast! Ahead of the show, the merchandise line was ridiculous, but thankfully, I was able to take home a few treasurers. I chose a tour hoodie, a t-shirt with all seven members on it, and a tour program. The venue was packed with diehard S Club fans, which made the evening even more fun and exciting. Everyone knew all of the words to the songs, everyone was having a good time, and everyone was making special memories. There was so much good energy in the room! I was in my happy place.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWr317WLJqdy1lK5X_EcCsLNMF8EkGc1fnAc46uYHrlnv3-i_8ohB9QQ-1QigBQ08UMuezE_qcAOFrLb8W8syWAYvMmTrp904tpk_M8laZQ6Sf3y22uuCTjtfTosSXNBaOdKy2ppLo7t1BSZYLbaCxhxvUJJa9DFktbdYSpv5JcRLoGGa4aML61sZxNjPW/s1083/sclub3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="933" data-original-width="1083" height="552" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWr317WLJqdy1lK5X_EcCsLNMF8EkGc1fnAc46uYHrlnv3-i_8ohB9QQ-1QigBQ08UMuezE_qcAOFrLb8W8syWAYvMmTrp904tpk_M8laZQ6Sf3y22uuCTjtfTosSXNBaOdKy2ppLo7t1BSZYLbaCxhxvUJJa9DFktbdYSpv5JcRLoGGa4aML61sZxNjPW/w640-h552/sclub3.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>The setlist was excellent, with tracks from all of their albums. There were some singles and some album songs, so there was a good mixture. My highlights were Reach, Sunshine, Friday Night, Two In a Million, Bring It All Back...okay...my highlights were everything! I am a huge fan of the band and know every single lyric from every single song they ever released. So, it was a thrill to hear each and every song. Something important to note: Jon and Bradley sang, "Good Times," as a tribute to Paul Cattermole, who sadly passed away last year. Paul was always my favourite member of the group and his passing was devastating for all who knew him and appreciated his talents. He was so missed at the concert and I was grateful the band took time to honour him that way. His S Club 7 colour was orange, so of course, I wore vibrant <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/05/monochromatic-makeup-orange.html">orange makeup</a> to the concert. </p><p>It was such a special night. The dancing was amazing, the music was incredible, and everyone seemed to have a wonderful experience. Though I am normally a very anxious person and in my head at all times....I was able to feel really free and joyful during the show. I danced around with everyone and sang along to the songs. Every moment meant so much to me. This is the only time that I have ever seen S Club perform a full concert set, so it was a memorable evening from start to finish. </p><p>Have you attended any concerts lately? That's right...this is the last post for <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2024/02/rem-beauty-week-smitten-kitten.html">r.e.m. beauty week</a>. It is all about the Naughty and Iced Cheek and Lip Set. I love that this set from the brand includes one warm toned product and one cool toned product. There is nothing more exciting than mixing and matching! I always love the contrast. Ready to find out more? Honestly? Both of these products are fantastic. I was actually interested in a different Interstellar Highlighter (Mama Earth, a green highlight. I love testing out makeup products that are different and fun) but Miss Neptune was included in this set, so it seemed like a good way to find out more about the formula. I absolutely adore Miss Neptune. It is such a gorgeous purple colour! I've used it as a highlight and as an eyeshadow topper. It is phenomenal and instantly perks up any makeup look. Needless to say, Mama Earth is still on my wish list. </div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgVNmDxyTNgIocU1McE-14JNEUHWn7LbqfjSS3LJo6ilazxSE7M66H6QEedwHqi8Um-ozAud9-0dFhWsiUcH-MDTk-4y6ssTbsD26J6tai2inzwFiw-4kbtNWfB8Dov2pOxzy-srNqzy36aZBtVva-kXeakDxy4OQN2p_nNzWLFeINxdhYr6KFmZvGcAK9/s792/rem11.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="686" data-original-width="792" height="554" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgVNmDxyTNgIocU1McE-14JNEUHWn7LbqfjSS3LJo6ilazxSE7M66H6QEedwHqi8Um-ozAud9-0dFhWsiUcH-MDTk-4y6ssTbsD26J6tai2inzwFiw-4kbtNWfB8Dov2pOxzy-srNqzy36aZBtVva-kXeakDxy4OQN2p_nNzWLFeINxdhYr6KFmZvGcAK9/w640-h554/rem11.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>The other product included in this set is the Eclipse Cheek and Lip Stick in Gingerbread Kiss. This product can be used as a cream blush or a lipstick. I love duel function makeup items, especially when I am travelling somewhere. I actually have a vacation planned soon, so this will definitely be in my travel bag. The Gingerbread Kiss colour is stunning. It is so warm and easy to wear. It looks nice on the cheeks, but looks especially beautiful on the lips. It applies nicely and feels comfortable. Gingerbread Kiss is fantastic and I look forward to trying out some different colours from the line when this one is all finished.<br /><p>Out of all the r.e.m. beauty products that I have been using lately, the items in the Naughty and Iced Cheek and Lip Set are my favourites. (Though that tinsel eyeliner and gel eyeshadow are also impressive.) The highlight is such a gorgeous colour and looks fantastic. The cheek and lip stick is versatile and nicely pigmented. There is an awful lot to love about these products. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">What did you think of these r.e.m. beauty theme week? Today? The focus is on the Limited Edition Galactic Frost Metallic Eye Set. This particular set stood out to me, because it contains three different products. I've tried an awful lot of eyeliners over the years, but never one inspired by tinsel. As a Christmas fanatic and a lover of unique makeup items, this checked off all the boxes. This twist up liner is absolutely incredible. I love how bold the colour is and the incredible shimmer finish. This kohl pencil eyeliner is creamy and applies easily. This is something that I have been using along the lower lash line and around the inner corner for an extra pop of shimmer. Sadly, this is a limited edition product, so it is unlikely that I will be able to repurchase it in the future. I will just have to make the most of this fabulous eyeliner while I have it to use.<br /><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibaHnY4yHr_aTI8iKQ81lsBUNC_WnUuLs8qVUsxy1FZeDh1-_UHWdBxiBTJgLumdzDdD6Utx_pje8a4v9ypc2CR5he2113KRbsXPhsJoytumi7af40HZET51iEV4omUiPyuFzut5AmKL9pbbdNbPFIVQB7TCSzqTUE_-NhTugfII5CZihTV4skptjvd2PF/s896/rem7.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="692" data-original-width="896" height="494" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibaHnY4yHr_aTI8iKQ81lsBUNC_WnUuLs8qVUsxy1FZeDh1-_UHWdBxiBTJgLumdzDdD6Utx_pje8a4v9ypc2CR5he2113KRbsXPhsJoytumi7af40HZET51iEV4omUiPyuFzut5AmKL9pbbdNbPFIVQB7TCSzqTUE_-NhTugfII5CZihTV4skptjvd2PF/w640-h494/rem7.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><b>At The Borderline Eyeliner Marker in Midnight Black. </b>This next product included in the <a href="https://shop.shoppersdrugmart.ca/r-e-m-beauty-galactic-frost-metallic-eye-set/p/BB_195354313668?variantCode=195354313668">Galactic Frost Metallic Eye Set</a> is an eyeliner marker. The packaging states that this product is a top seller for the brand. Unfortunately, this was not my favourite eyeliner marker. The colour is a beautiful rich black, but the actual marker tip is somewhat short and it makes application a bit more difficult. This also feathered slightly during application. It just isn't for me! I've tried all sorts of eyeliner markers over the years and the NYX Epic Ink Liner is the one that best suits my preferences. That being said, I will make sure not to waste this eyeliner marker from r.e.m. beauty. This will probably be what I reach for on days that I am doing makeup for fun at home (always a good time to experiment with products) instead of doing my makeup to head out somewhere. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiokRefTOMB7-CO21hArvkdV7m-vNSv1jsiJfBFHKzc7Jruig63A7ypFkwTEdopvuBfUrLRerwFRECytDhAps-z20cVkDUjYhK3w01TfAmDj2uWbxVHyPqtVNZ07vfmCvDqL5phGx91A1t4J_EWYy4qtS9oC0IKLhswndrVkhZFtk3IhyphenhyphenR4F0hmzkqgkg7N/s956/rem8.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="753" data-original-width="956" height="504" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiokRefTOMB7-CO21hArvkdV7m-vNSv1jsiJfBFHKzc7Jruig63A7ypFkwTEdopvuBfUrLRerwFRECytDhAps-z20cVkDUjYhK3w01TfAmDj2uWbxVHyPqtVNZ07vfmCvDqL5phGx91A1t4J_EWYy4qtS9oC0IKLhswndrVkhZFtk3IhyphenhyphenR4F0hmzkqgkg7N/w640-h504/rem8.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><b>Midnight Shadows Metallic Gel Eyeshadow in Frostbyte. </b>Now for the star of this beauty set. There were a few different Metallic Gel Eyeshadows to choose from at the store, which were sold individually, but the Frostbyte colour looked so beautiful. Plus, it came in the set with two other products that I was interested in trying. Frostbyte is described as a silvery purple shimmer...which is the perfect description. As you can see from the swatch above (there are also swatches of Tinsel and Midnight Black) this has lots of shimmer and shine. The product comes in a cute round container. When it comes to this gel eyeshadow, there are things that I like and things that I do not like. What I like? The way the product looks. It is so shimmery and pretty. Honestly, it reminds me of this Mary Kate and Ashley makeup that I had when I was a kid. (I mean that in a good way. This felt like a wonderful dose of nostalgia.) This goes on well and looks fabulous. What I am not as into is the actual container. This can be a bit messy. I wish the product had been put into a squeeze tube like that old-school Mary Kate and Ashley makeup. Though this rounded container certainly looks nicer...easy application is what I care about most. <br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnGs80iTPv6Le5yq5TaHZSJqKL3BR50E1dWzSEyxK20k7uoBgw8oRHmQTT5f3HIcVCTtrAnJ3i8XPqMYZe61xon8pG0acUqXY7nhurxZVbkxgn7Wtl0o03yM1RLyJjWGU3sCHfFxxFT8l96zgEbPl-KxvwpU0JxKwW4-WR4mNwRTlTargGuu8KlYyLXTHv/s752/rem19.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="631" data-original-width="752" height="538" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnGs80iTPv6Le5yq5TaHZSJqKL3BR50E1dWzSEyxK20k7uoBgw8oRHmQTT5f3HIcVCTtrAnJ3i8XPqMYZe61xon8pG0acUqXY7nhurxZVbkxgn7Wtl0o03yM1RLyJjWGU3sCHfFxxFT8l96zgEbPl-KxvwpU0JxKwW4-WR4mNwRTlTargGuu8KlYyLXTHv/w640-h538/rem19.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>As you can see from the photo above, the r.e.m. beauty items are a lot of fun. These icy makeup products are especially ideal for this time of year. I just love the Tinsel eyeliner and the finish of the Frostbyte gel eyeshadow. Though the liner was not one that I would repurchase...at least I was able to discover that for myself. All in all, the Galactic Frost Metallic Eye Set was fun to use thanks to the unique products included. I look forward to making the most of these fabulous frosty beauty items.<br /><div><br /></div><div>Are you interested in r.e.m. beauty? This is a brand that is of interest to me, because I really like Ariana Grande. (Both her music and her fragrances.) With products available at certain Shoppers Drug Mart locations, it was time to check out what was on offer. Though an awful lot was tempting...three items came home with me. Two were holiday themed sets and one was an <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/09/2-looks-1-palette-rem-beauty-gogo-boots.html">eyeshadow palette</a>. This week on <i>the creation of beauty is art. </i>the posts are dedicated to these new r.e.m. beauty products. That's right! Another theme week has arrived. There will be a post about the Galactic Frost Limited Edition Metallic Eye Set and a post about the Naughty and Iced Limited Edition Cheek and Lip Set in the days to come. For now, it is time to kickstart this theme week by focusing on the r.e.m. beauty Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Palette in Smitten Kitten. <div><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglzCCh7ZAuc1x6j3EymgWe3ibY9fojP7BWRZZhFRbrsadzhz_68BXG4_Eoymp7d0t5fZGu1iayCHsDJAjC72BYNEcVFiaLvPkue4atiNXwSQzQ9yARnnPGZptp9v065uU1x1S28WmtTndPifKmBCn-eZ0CNvyurNcJBmKGgNEj0lCYEWr2ofKOdKX8s5N_/s935/rem.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="647" data-original-width="935" height="442" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglzCCh7ZAuc1x6j3EymgWe3ibY9fojP7BWRZZhFRbrsadzhz_68BXG4_Eoymp7d0t5fZGu1iayCHsDJAjC72BYNEcVFiaLvPkue4atiNXwSQzQ9yARnnPGZptp9v065uU1x1S28WmtTndPifKmBCn-eZ0CNvyurNcJBmKGgNEj0lCYEWr2ofKOdKX8s5N_/w640-h442/rem.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>There is something so interesting about the r.e.m. beauty eyeshadow palette design. The retro future style instantly makes this stand out from other eyeshadow palettes out there...in the best possible way. I love the shape of the palette and the sleek silver colour. In the past, I was able to find the <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/08/review-rem-beauty-gogo-boots-eyeshadow.html">Gogo Boots Eyeshadow Palette</a> while on a trip to the USA and really enjoyed it. So, it was extra exciting to have the opportunity to try out another eyeshadow palette from the brand, Smitten Kitten.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik31aL2xwfw32ZIX1qPI2jt7Ap6usLPwWKi0f-Akrxwg1yJ1IlvNuiQSfx-Y_51Dw02CD7hB6u-IPXVxAljS56W3bOFqiThHf-PsWWwg4cE966qt1kJJEYYO19zdFFVtx9eXaZpWLeXR4BIZhKz8XXyTYVjvsEAGWTWHguSBgfBF29TNmiwYtbOifchRNd/s1051/rem2.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="772" data-original-width="1051" height="470" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik31aL2xwfw32ZIX1qPI2jt7Ap6usLPwWKi0f-Akrxwg1yJ1IlvNuiQSfx-Y_51Dw02CD7hB6u-IPXVxAljS56W3bOFqiThHf-PsWWwg4cE966qt1kJJEYYO19zdFFVtx9eXaZpWLeXR4BIZhKz8XXyTYVjvsEAGWTWHguSBgfBF29TNmiwYtbOifchRNd/w640-h470/rem2.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>There are six eyeshadow shades in all, but Smitten Kitten is a lot more neutral than the Gogo Boots release. (That one had purple and teal. So fun!) It has Crush (matte peachy pink), Hit Send (metallic warm bronze), Next (deep matte brown), Love Bite (metallic burgundy rose), Flirt (metallic icy pink), and All Nighter (black with pink shimmer). The colour story is really gorgeous. Everything is so warm and romantic! As for the quality, some of these shadows perform better than others. For instance, Flirt, that metallic icy pink, is gorgeous and looks beautiful layered over the Crush, the matte peachy pink. I also really love the metallic warm bronze, Hit Send. The misses for me are Next and All Nighter. Though the swatches are ultra pigmented, those particular shadows don't perform as well with a brush. I just wanted those shadows to have a little more oomph. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk7daITlsv2JmJgMOiNAJ86bXI36YLzaPZqxyi7D6ybkkUPGwM9dg9Ksbf4ql0nEyrw0pzO8p2SXUVSmLmwebcSnFd8mIfTpXvSG13ZEyBe_MD4dRzMkob4zoxuzmd4b4POXwEsoUO6mt0d4-Hr2QyaNSrDZCtpJmjsCObUKsBAnpVcfKw5Q6i9zMyAWQG/s854/rem3.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="717" data-original-width="854" height="538" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk7daITlsv2JmJgMOiNAJ86bXI36YLzaPZqxyi7D6ybkkUPGwM9dg9Ksbf4ql0nEyrw0pzO8p2SXUVSmLmwebcSnFd8mIfTpXvSG13ZEyBe_MD4dRzMkob4zoxuzmd4b4POXwEsoUO6mt0d4-Hr2QyaNSrDZCtpJmjsCObUKsBAnpVcfKw5Q6i9zMyAWQG/w640-h538/rem3.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>The <a href="https://rembeauty.com/products/eyeshadow-palette?variant=42620753641735">Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Palette in Smitten Kitten</a> is decent. I like the design of the palette, the colour story, and a lot of the shadows. However, not all of the shadows performed as I would have hoped. Especially the shade, Next. It looks incredible in the palette and swatches well, but when it is actually applied to the lid, it kind of blends away to not a whole lot. That was disappointing, for sure, especially since there are only six shadows to work with here. Though I like the palette, this is not as impressive as the Gogo Boots Eyeshadow Palette that I tried previously. Smitten Kitten is pretty, but not perfect. </div><div><br /></div><div>Have you tried any of the r.e.m. beauty eyeshadow palettes? At the time, products from the brand were sold at Sephora. It might have been around the holiday season that the trunk was released. It had an eyeshadow palette built in, a gorgeous red lipstick, and a glowy face primer. I was obsessed with all of the products inside, but especially this one taupe eyeshadow. It was <i>gorgeous</i>. Though that trunk is long gone, my memories of that taupe eyeshadow remain. Maybe that is why the Taupe Notch Eyeshadow Palette from Violet Voss immediately nabbed my attention. It brought me back to the makeup looks that I used to create. It brought me back to another time in my life. Add to that the fact that <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search?q=violet+voss">Violet Voss</a> is a brand that I have had a lot of positive experiences with (some of their eyeshadow palettes are on my all-time favourites list) and it simply had to be added to my cart. It is time to take a look at this taupe-tastic makeup release.</p><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm76aPfAy-Iz87duj7_Lgf7J2iohOWsTYZWnfjF0ZTrrgl7Y3UK4KEcBKJo1V9efQmhIS5H9vS7Uvinc9-CR0Hq9zr9Ys40hw4kXvO4wuSrAPGTIIDiwVhDru0g5ZoYwHKoLGujMTZvSnRfug4F200AkyxO-0JQmR0uL7sBpwYjsqoYpIWo2-CEd_xaGRg/s854/violetvosstaupe2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="593" data-original-width="854" height="444" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm76aPfAy-Iz87duj7_Lgf7J2iohOWsTYZWnfjF0ZTrrgl7Y3UK4KEcBKJo1V9efQmhIS5H9vS7Uvinc9-CR0Hq9zr9Ys40hw4kXvO4wuSrAPGTIIDiwVhDru0g5ZoYwHKoLGujMTZvSnRfug4F200AkyxO-0JQmR0uL7sBpwYjsqoYpIWo2-CEd_xaGRg/w640-h444/violetvosstaupe2.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>The colour story in the <a href="https://shopvioletvoss.com/products/taupe-notch">Taupe Notch Eyeshadow Palette</a> from Violet Voss is fabulous. According to the brand, it has "20 highly pigmented eyeshadows in a variety of must have finishes." These colours are described as cool neutrals with a combination of mattes, metallics, and satin finishes. The palette is cruelty free and vegan. Something to note? Some of these are described as face pressed pigments and some as eyeshadows. The pigments are: #1, Bestest, Top Notch, First Class, MVP, Extra, and World Class. The rest are considered eyeshadows. I have used all of them on my eye area and didn't have any issue, but that is certainly something to keep in mind. When it comes to the Taupe Notch Eyeshadow Palette, there is an awful lot to love. The colour story is full of cool neutral colours...including a gorgeous taupe. These are definitely my kind of colours. I love a good neutral with a twist. It used to be much easier to find cool toned palettes, but then it became much harder. Thankfully, in the last couple of years, more cool toned palettes have been released, like my beloved <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/03/2-looks-1-palette-kara-beauty-cool.html">Cool, Whatever Eyeshadow Palette</a>.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnCTNx4RqrkswqB0Gfmg69EuupjRifka7BfFf3hJIlbnnFXiQKg-pnZb-RdAN_F6niRG4gQ8NN-XtpVuMxb1PfJJs65xC8N7N1DGAoNxxh9fUVZf21BgjTQNmFAEPJvTaF2pTFgpLsz5Qamp_KFAxgIs1IwPoDkcyUf_7jT7OPGtCPrSIYa3Xl33cWkoxs/s861/violetvosstaupe3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="748" data-original-width="861" height="556" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnCTNx4RqrkswqB0Gfmg69EuupjRifka7BfFf3hJIlbnnFXiQKg-pnZb-RdAN_F6niRG4gQ8NN-XtpVuMxb1PfJJs65xC8N7N1DGAoNxxh9fUVZf21BgjTQNmFAEPJvTaF2pTFgpLsz5Qamp_KFAxgIs1IwPoDkcyUf_7jT7OPGtCPrSIYa3Xl33cWkoxs/w640-h556/violetvosstaupe3.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>The quality of the shadows in this Violet Voss palette is impressive. I love how richly pigmented these are and especially how creamy the shimmer shades are. It is so easy to create a dramatic (and cool toned) makeup look. Some of my favourite eyeshadows are: Taupe (a matte taupe), Numero Uno (a shimmery taupe), Ace (a shimmery grungey brown), and MVP (a shimmery metallic). The shimmers are gorgeous and definitely are the standouts. However, the matte taupe and some of the matte browns are excellent as well. I love using the matte shades as a base and then letting the shimmer shadow finish it off. <div><br /></div><div>Overall, the Taupe Notch Eyeshadow Palette from Violet Voss is a winner. I love the colour story, the combination of mattes and shimmers, the eyeshadow formula, and the ease of use. This is a palette that has been making me happy lately. The #FOTD above makes good use of my favourite mattes: Taupe, Exclusive, and First Class. Then there was Numero Uno applied to the center of the lid and a little World Class on the outer corner and along the lower lash line. I love how it turned out! <br /><p>What do you think of this taupe eyeshadow palette? This holiday is all about love. That includes friendships, romantic love, love of family members, pets, and well, everyone. Though the romantic aspect is often highlighted in movies, television shows, and all the rest...Valentine's Day is truly a time to celebrate the people that matter most in your life. Whether you are heading out for a nice dinner, baking cookies or brownies at home, sharing Valentine's Day cards with people at work, or sending a thoughtful text message, my hope is that your day will be full of love and kindness. Not feeling the holiday spirit? This post is full of inspiration photos. Another option is to check out Valentine's Day cartoons (one that I really enjoy is <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37HjRGE39x8">My Smurfy Valentine</a>) or a classic rom-com on a streaming service. Grab some chocolate, some candy hearts, and make this holiday one to remember.<div><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDQapPLJCJo3J1eGkv7GK8FahBjLrLcIcq4rw0ko0vanYC_TH8kLDK-xDog4NedPTHmji8F5CxJ13e9C6KAm-y8OMv9StaXMt3rCa5Sgei9tlvAeJec00sacxHun7xCUBuWdP6Qe9YFetaEAT1SiT83ituWXzn2cdDdEqatTGZ2AFuOAdwGGo9BrjYksOt/s1031/vday1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; This iconic character is beloved around the world. Created in the mid-70s, her popularity never seems to wane. Even today, it is common to see this adorable cartoon on everything from backpacks to t-shirts, purses, buttons, shoes, and even beauty products. An example of the latter is the Pixi + Hello Kitty Glow Tonic. Since I happen to adore Hello Kitty...it was impossible for me to resist this themed product. And since my skin has needed some extra attention lately, it was a win-win situation. Ready to find out how this adorable Glow Tonic performs? Here is everything you need to know.</p><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizdDriM7lPNi7hEhOA0j5asPdrva5tSqB4PXwrwUM7WKJeu7K70dR7XwwALb7pfkz44AdnrA6wAHQcImKkA8KlaZE_ozcofgD3aDHtxaZOcl5st8k95mDOl93ZcANfITfEOIEEv-5pKbD8VtlBAikwTbkpm3IOrWoMdagQzhulPjIyLJ3oenzK22PGr-jL/s987/hellokitty2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="771" data-original-width="987" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizdDriM7lPNi7hEhOA0j5asPdrva5tSqB4PXwrwUM7WKJeu7K70dR7XwwALb7pfkz44AdnrA6wAHQcImKkA8KlaZE_ozcofgD3aDHtxaZOcl5st8k95mDOl93ZcANfITfEOIEEv-5pKbD8VtlBAikwTbkpm3IOrWoMdagQzhulPjIyLJ3oenzK22PGr-jL/w640-h500/hellokitty2.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>Truth be told, the packaging makes me positively giddy. As I mentioned, Hello Kitty is high on my list of loves. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved that cartoon cat. In fact, I have fond memories of watching the television show and wearing all sorts of Hello Kitty merchandise. (This is true even as an adult. I still have the Hello Kitty sneakers shown <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2012/03/person-who-never-made-mistake-never.html">here</a>.) Clearly, this character is special to me and to a lot of other people in the world. No wonder the Glow Tonic packaging is so thrilling. The light green bottle topper is shaped like Hello Kitty and there is a little Hello Kitty design on the product label. Skin care is not usually all that exciting to look at, so it is nice to have something that looks so adorable. It makes the skin care routine feel more fun! </p><p>According to the brand, the <a href="https://ca.pixibeauty.com/products/pixi-hello-kitty-glow-tonic-250ml">Pixi + Hello Kitty Glow Tonic</a> contains aloe vera, ginseng, and botanical extracts. It is also formulated with 5% glycolic acid. It is supposed to exfoliate, brighten, and smooth the skin, as well as add a glow to the skin. It is suitable for all skin types, not tested on animals, and paraben-free. My experience with the product has been positive so far. It has been included in my skin care routine for the last several weeks. Though I haven't noticed a dramatic shift in my skin...this has certainly made it appear less dull. (Always a good thing during the winter months.) It has also made my skin feel softer and smoother to the touch. What do I like about the Glow Tonic? The cute packaging, the fact that my skin feels smoother, and lastly, the smell of the product. I'm not exactly sure how to describe the scent, but it is light and refreshing. It makes me feel pampered and soothed. The Pixi + Hello Kitty Glow Tonic is a product that I will happily continue to use. It is quick and easy to add to my skin care routine and makes me feel good. Here is hoping it will continue to benefit my skin.</p><p>Have you tried any of the <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2022/10/testing-out-pixi-skin-care-products.html">Pixi skin care</a> products? I purchased items from them frequently....and then I didn't anymore. It all started when they discontinued my favourite foundation (The <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2013/03/foundation-face-off-rimmel-vs-rimmel.html">Clean Finish Foundation</a> was my everything). Over time, I just browsed their selection less often than before. That being said, I do miss the brand. It is certainly nostalgic for me. I've tried a few of their mascaras in more recent years, but not a whole lot else. Maybe it is time to take a closer look at what they have to offer these days. Until then, it is time for a mascara review. Since my favourite mascara, The Super Sizer from Cover Girl, appears to have been discontinued (or at least seriously difficult for me to get my hands on), I am looking into alternatives. Keep reading for a first impressions review of the Scandaleyes Volume On Demand Mascara from Rimmel. <div><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqV3Hieo-tQJRF2xJhaNjuGuqoa616a5KB0J6xykJ6Ju97Xhf5nmr1RmU_G8uXjzPYPBXvZYIpcDBCO74zcynl6uxcO7m7KxKjmqk6i5ka03ZTS95-IoZJA5EttTfnxcIxCBbFqQjAO8YJxkHvqa3YMhMv9OC7-8bVfJHHaytBpUYn12QnUno3KDMQWua_/s1004/rimmel2.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="753" data-original-width="1004" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqV3Hieo-tQJRF2xJhaNjuGuqoa616a5KB0J6xykJ6Ju97Xhf5nmr1RmU_G8uXjzPYPBXvZYIpcDBCO74zcynl6uxcO7m7KxKjmqk6i5ka03ZTS95-IoZJA5EttTfnxcIxCBbFqQjAO8YJxkHvqa3YMhMv9OC7-8bVfJHHaytBpUYn12QnUno3KDMQWua_/w640-h480/rimmel2.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>As I mentioned, I've tested out a few different <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2022/09/pros-and-cons-rimmel-wonder-extension.html">Rimmel mascaras</a> in more recent years. Those have been pretty decent, but have not managed to make me stop thinking about The Super Sizer from Cover Girl. Still on the hunt for a new favourite, it was time to use the Scandaleyes Volume On Demand Mascara. According to the brand, this has a wavy fiber brush with a unique tapered shape to grab, coat, and comb each lash. It also claims to have a conditioning formula that keeps the lashes soft and flexible. Plus, it is supposed to be clump free, flake free, and smudge free, not to mention customizable and suitable for sensitive eyes. </div><div>There are two different versions of this mascara: black and extreme black. Since I love dramatic lashes (without falsies) it was extreme black for me! This definitely offers a rich and intense black. The shape of the wand makes application fairly simple and straightforward. As for the claim about this being customizable, that is certainly accurate. One coat leaves the lashes looking beautiful and fluttery. More than one coat leads to a bold and dramatic lash look. Though this is described as a volumizing mascara, it adds a lot of length to the lashes as well. This doesn't seem to have much of a scent and doesn't irritate my eyes the way some other mascaras have. I just love the rich black, the length the mascara adds, the volume it adds, the fact that it is not irritating, and that it lasts all day without moving. This really checks all the boxes for me. Now that I am unable to find more of The Super Sizer (though I still have a few remaining tubes) this is likely to be my new must-have mascara. I really love the way this looks and the fact that it lasts all day without smudging or flaking. The <a href="https://www.rimmellondon.com/en-us/eyes/mascaras/scandaleyes-volume-on-demand-mascara?shade=Extreme%20Black">Scandaleyes Volume On Demand Mascara</a> costs about $12 CDN, which is fairly standard these days. For me, this mascara is a winner and one that will be repurchased the next time I am at the drugstore. After testing all sorts of mascaras, it is nice to find one that stands out. </div><div><br /></div><div>What is your favourite mascara? I've been moisturizing regularly, exfoliating, and all the rest, but my skin is not cooperating. Currently, it is ultra dry on my forehead and cheeks, but there are blemishes around my chin. Talk about frustrating! Since I had these Catne Pimple Patches from <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/08/theme-week-lip-products-winky-lux.html">Winky Lux</a> on hand, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to put them to the test. So...does it work?? Keep reading to find out.<div><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8pYl69Wy6iEgYAbx36qcU9taqn1OwF8tUaUzUGbrJGAl8hqBz-tD-MFowHywz-TZGTll1e6qX8ZdoY0UAwLxg5ykO8rRrFUe07eBXUEySSnt-wZplvqEuGaErQG9LZv_MAv0B-TNi82E2wfSmqpnfIiv2FvjhJAriLVJNaYfMXce7amgpqAzXZH3YUdnv/s1042/winkylux2.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="796" data-original-width="1042" height="488" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8pYl69Wy6iEgYAbx36qcU9taqn1OwF8tUaUzUGbrJGAl8hqBz-tD-MFowHywz-TZGTll1e6qX8ZdoY0UAwLxg5ykO8rRrFUe07eBXUEySSnt-wZplvqEuGaErQG9LZv_MAv0B-TNi82E2wfSmqpnfIiv2FvjhJAriLVJNaYfMXce7amgpqAzXZH3YUdnv/w640-h488/winkylux2.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>It must be said that the <a href="https://www.winkylux.com/products/catne-pimple-patches">Catne Pimple Patches</a> from Winky Lux are downright adorable. As you can see from the photo above, the patches are themed. While breakouts are never enjoyable...the products used to treat them can be. I love that little attention to detail. Making the patches cat shaped and having cute themed packaging certainly makes the experience a little better. According to the brand, these pimple patches "help minimize the appearance of blemishes by absorbing oil and impurities. The hydrocolloid patches cover blemishes to protect them from bacteria, prevent picking, and help minimize discomfort to encourage faster natural healing." The directions are simple: wash the area, put on the pimple patch, and remove after a minimum of six hours. I like that the product is themed (cats are adorable) and simple to use. </div><div><br /></div><div>The brand claims that these pimple patches prevent picking and protect the area from bacteria. That is certainly true, because with the cat shaped patch applied to the blemish, it isn't possible to pick, poke, or anything else. That being said, the patch feels somewhat uncomfortable, so it is best to use one before bed instead of during the day. As for the claim that it absorbs oil and impurities to minimize the appearance of blemishes? That wasn't my experience. Maybe my breakouts were a little too much for these pimple patches, but none of the blemishes were noticeably improved after using the Catne Pimple Patches. </div><div><br /></div><div>So...<a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search/label/does%20it%20work">does it work??</a> Not so much. I love the idea of taking something unpleasant (like dealing with a breakout) and making it fun with cat shapes and cute packaging. However, the pimple patches did not effectively minimize the appearance of my blemishes. In fact, they looked the same as they did before the patch was applied. It was disappointing, for sure. That being said, the effectiveness likely depends on a number of factors, like the kind of blemish and how long the blemish has been around. While I appreciate the idea of these adorable pimple patches, the Catne Pimple Patches just did not work for me.</div><div><br /></div><div>Have you tried these patches before? I remember watching that first episode on YTV (a local channel that was a favourite for much of my adolescence) and immediately being hooked. From that point on, I was begging my mom for the Sailor Moon action figures and all sorts of Sailor Moon stickers at the dollar store. I remember getting in trouble by my fourth grade teacher, because I prioritized drawing pictures of the characters instead of paying attention to the lessons. Yes, the show was a full-blown obsession. Though I have had many obsessions over the years, Sailor Moon was, and still is, special. It is an important part of me. It represents my past, but it also represents my future. When I watch the episodes, I am reminded of what matters most to me and what I base my life on: fighting for love and justice. That simple message inspired me as a child and it continues to inspire me today. The world is dark and many people are cruel...which makes it even more important to fight for what is right. Sailor Moon is not just a television show to me. It is a reminder of what matters.</p><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2TV9XBU9EttMs9kWrebOVq8G4BoPzCRihn6gZz-JvKLDHbvJ4qKJPKH-2P7zK2SbMiUPrmzr8JD_36GQqoIu47bYIghQRa7RhVT6SMXsgJ9kl_Jh7ixF04ohjYOObc7iyAERKG6Zu0t9l9PtE-1e6zpz4MInsovy5obaw8V__r3BWKXvA_3Lq-ZBpKbo9/s975/sailormoon2.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="805" data-original-width="975" height="528" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2TV9XBU9EttMs9kWrebOVq8G4BoPzCRihn6gZz-JvKLDHbvJ4qKJPKH-2P7zK2SbMiUPrmzr8JD_36GQqoIu47bYIghQRa7RhVT6SMXsgJ9kl_Jh7ixF04ohjYOObc7iyAERKG6Zu0t9l9PtE-1e6zpz4MInsovy5obaw8V__r3BWKXvA_3Lq-ZBpKbo9/w640-h528/sailormoon2.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Several months back now, I went on a <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/11/shopping-trip-highlights-lauren-conrad.html">shopping trip to the USA</a>. That meant I was able to visit an Ulta location. Though I wasn't looking for anything in particular, when I saw the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon For Love and Justice Shadow Palette from ColourPop...it was an immediate yes. There were actually two different Sailor Moon inspired palettes available. One was the For Love and Justice Shadow Palette and the other was the Pretty Guardian Shadow Palette. The latter had lots of peach, coral, and yellow shadows, so it was not as appealing to me. (Though it took all of my strength not to purchase it simply because of the cute themed packaging.) On the other hand, the For Love and Justice Shadow Palette had all of these beautiful purples, blues, and shimmers. There was just something about it. When it came to the packaging and theme, this checked all the boxes. There are Sailor Scouts on the front of the eyeshadow palette and on the inside as well. As for the eyeshadow names, all of them are themed. Some examples? Save The World, Friends Forever, Schoolgirl, and Her Destiny. When it comes to the theme, this is everything that a Sailor Moon fan could ask for. It is colourful, cute, and makes everything feel a little more beautiful. <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEhUswt0Amtxw82Amwh3wFEZlaCOFTxJMChU-DnxIx0aY4kBNHCSKeqJGhKfDnZyi8TrYtGtzS5qmFfWg4XjnMYEbTeAcS5Dsbb5yhX3r8LU9JvstdhS5YM438Ilfq3Lra2d2aHDxxnkSleFdrfJ2ydJt-Vy7uvHzKyCy-Ysa6CTIlbxX9xhfFOpMQvc1T/s914/sailormoon3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="757" data-original-width="914" height="530" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEhUswt0Amtxw82Amwh3wFEZlaCOFTxJMChU-DnxIx0aY4kBNHCSKeqJGhKfDnZyi8TrYtGtzS5qmFfWg4XjnMYEbTeAcS5Dsbb5yhX3r8LU9JvstdhS5YM438Ilfq3Lra2d2aHDxxnkSleFdrfJ2ydJt-Vy7uvHzKyCy-Ysa6CTIlbxX9xhfFOpMQvc1T/w640-h530/sailormoon3.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>When it comes to eyeshadow...I love it all. Warm colours, <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/03/2-looks-1-palette-kara-beauty-cool.html">cool colours</a>, matte, shimmer, glitter, and anything else that I happen to come across. This ColourPop eyeshadow palette is described as a cool-toned palette that is "a must for Sailor Guardian fans." That is certainly an accurate description. This palette has colourful but cool mattes and shimmers. For the mattes, there is a soft pink, soft purple, lilac, and a deeper purple. Then there are beautiful shimmers in beige, turquoise, and blue. The standouts? There are some shimmers in here that have really unique finishes and consistencies. So Cosmic and Always There are gorgeous duo chromes. Then Friends Forever, Starlight, and Twinkles have a somewhat thicker consistency that feels somewhat creamy to the touch. Those particular shadows are the stars. I love the bold glittery finishes. Plus, that creamier consistency means the glitter and shimmer stays in place without a glitter glue or primer. Twinkles is the <i>best </i>eyeshadow. <br /><p>The <a href="https://colourpop.com/products/for-love-justice-shadow-palette">Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon For Love and Justice Shadow Palette from ColourPop</a> makes me happy. It is really different from the other eyeshadow palettes in my collection, thanks to the variety of finishes and those colourful cool-toned shades. Twinkles, Starlight, and Friends Forever are remarkable and look beautiful layered over another eyeshadow or worn alone. Everything about this Sailor Moon inspired eyeshadow palette makes me smile. When I need a little reminder that love and justice are the most important things there are...this palette is there to remind me. Thank goodness for Sailor Moon.</p><p>Are you a fan of Sailor Moon? One thing is clear: my fashion choices have certainly changed! I used to wear a lot of cute blouses, dresses, and high heels. Though at my core, I am a t-shirt and jeans person, there was a time in my life when getting glam was a lot of fun for me. For special events, like a concert or a night out with friends, I would spend a lot of time and energy putting together the <i>perfect </i>outfit. Finding the <i>perfect </i>accessories. It was a wonderful form of self expression. I have to be honest...a lot changed for me when the COVID-19 pandemic happened. For starters, there was no leaving the house. No concerts, no seeing friends, no seeing family, no nothing. A few months into the pandemic, my job changed as well. I was fortunate enough to find my dream job, which involved writing, helping others, and working from home. Since I was now working from home and not leaving the house, slowly, I transformed into a human sweatpant. Though it is 2024 at this point, I haven't transitioned out of being a human sweatpant. Part of me misses those more glamorous looks...and part of me loves embracing comfort. I suppose it makes sense to meet in the middle somewhere. Until that happens, it only makes sense to highlight my current (oh-so-comfy) <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search/label/fashion">fashion</a> obsession. </p><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXWftARgXO2kWuwGgy10RNFPcMSr5K4rXPZ9sVWzSgkEhrlFJ4hphcy3R9HddxR5UdRUqSLGMTKa-dcsi-35VP35EgdPw0sstjnr5dGe35ZWgWq6oQuPFFOtz2btdKDubFDGjHxoMmYZvloSvSQt4S42S3HEJSi79X7MZb8JFXFnI7KQSS8uR2P7g9h4Ev/s1404/shacket2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="846" data-original-width="1404" height="386" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXWftARgXO2kWuwGgy10RNFPcMSr5K4rXPZ9sVWzSgkEhrlFJ4hphcy3R9HddxR5UdRUqSLGMTKa-dcsi-35VP35EgdPw0sstjnr5dGe35ZWgWq6oQuPFFOtz2btdKDubFDGjHxoMmYZvloSvSQt4S42S3HEJSi79X7MZb8JFXFnI7KQSS8uR2P7g9h4Ev/w640-h386/shacket2.png" width="640" /></a></div><p>Ta da! The aptly named <a href="https://www.costco.ca/lazypants-women's-fleece-shacket.product.4000140712.html">Lazypants Women's Fleece Shacket</a> has become my total fashion obsession. My parents bought a pink shacket for me last year and I loved it so much. This year? They bought me one in tan, burgundy, and forest green as well. Fall, winter, and spring....you will likely find me in one of these shackets. These are oversized, comfortable, warm, and are ideal for running from the car into a restaurant or heading out to run some errands. I love the different colours, the fit, the pockets on the front, and well, everything. Though these might look fairly basic, the shackets make me feel like my absolute best self. It sounds strange, but when I put one of these shackets on, I feel like a superhero throwing on my cape! Suddenly, I feel a little more confident. I stand a little taller. It doesn't even matter if I look good or not. What matters is that I <i>feel </i>good in these. </p><p>Though there is part of me that is longing for past versions of myself...versions of myself that prioritized fashion over function...there is a something nice about wearing something simply for the way it makes me feel rather than the way it makes me look. In the months ahead, it would be nice to pull out some of those old dresses again and have a little more fun with style. However, it is also important that I start to accept and acknowledge this part of me: this human sweatpant side of me. <br /></p><p>The truth? I am not glamorous. I am not "that girl" that everyone wants to look like. I am not stylish. I am not cool. I am just...part human sweatpant and part glitter enthusiast. And maybe that's okay. Though these Lazypants Women's Fleece Shackets are simply cute shirt/jacket combos, they have somehow become something more to me. These shackets are a little mood boost, a little shot of <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2018/01/start-your-day-off-with-boost-of.html">confidence</a>, and a reminder that it is okay for me to accept all the different parts of who I am. Even the parts of me that are lazy, craving comfort, and the opposite of glamorous. As I try to discover (or maybe re-discover) my sense of style, at least there are warm, comfortable, and colourful shackets to make me feel at ease. Whether you are ultra stylish or are currently embracing your sweatpant era, here is hoping that 2024 is a year full of fabulousness. </p><p>What fashion items have been making you smile lately? Truthfully, this makes me a little relieved, because I have been dealing with the <a href="https://www.rxsaver.com/blog/depression-in-january">January Blues</a> for much of the month. There isn't a particular reason that I have been so down, but for the last few weeks, I have felt unfocused, unsteady, and unsure. Despite that, there were some good moments...and some events to look forward to now that January is coming to a close. This post is a look back at the month that has passed and a look ahead at some resolutions. <div><br /></div><div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpWDdziKLyoGzRT-yy1KUAKe4N-ZviRxm9DNxNfAfEu7f_RN9x9FPwJKI0gSvxcQ3WtgZQsE2YZSd7mqKL4a7y293kMY-8HrHBzijA6VF9A8bFlkOsOUElWo-WKNUMawiukTOEdO2p6tPi7lggo0dUtqoncry5AmqGblQJh49hWqR0YShJFXwO_1W3WIjP/s1297/january2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="870" data-original-width="1297" height="430" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpWDdziKLyoGzRT-yy1KUAKe4N-ZviRxm9DNxNfAfEu7f_RN9x9FPwJKI0gSvxcQ3WtgZQsE2YZSd7mqKL4a7y293kMY-8HrHBzijA6VF9A8bFlkOsOUElWo-WKNUMawiukTOEdO2p6tPi7lggo0dUtqoncry5AmqGblQJh49hWqR0YShJFXwO_1W3WIjP/w640-h430/january2.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>January was an interesting month. It started off slower, mostly because I struggled to re-establish my routine after the holiday season. Day after day, I found myself struggling to drag myself out of bed at a decent hour and be productive. (The word that best describes my <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2024/01/fotd-january-makeup-look-bh-cosmetics.html">January</a>: struggle.) Some days were harder than others, but I am hopeful that things will start to really shift in the next little while. Despite the mental and emotional difficulties, there were some good moments scattered throughout the month, like seeing the musical, 42nd Street, with my mom, heading to the movies with a friend (the Mean Girls musical, of course), and hanging out with my husband. I also spent time working out, watching Love Is Blind Sweden, reading books, working through a self-love workbook, watching Christmas DVDs, and generally trying to pull myself out of this January funk. </div><div><br /></div><div>At the end of each month, I always like to look back at my <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2019/11/three-reasons-to-start-your-resolutions.html">New Year's Resolutions</a>. This process allows me to check in and better determine what short-term goals I need to work on to check off some of those longer-term items. There are all sorts of resolutions on my list this year. Some are beauty related (to use more of what I have, be more consistent with my skin care routine, and do something different with my hair colour). Though I haven't been entirely successful in that area...I am planning to book a hair appointment in the next month or so. Fingers crossed I work up the courage to do something different with my hair in the not-so-distant future. (I am terrible with change. Even when it is positive change.) There are health and fitness goals on my resolution list as well, which I feel good about overall. I've been exercising regularly and focusing more on healthy foods.</div><div><br /></div><div>As for my writing and reading goals, there has not been a ton of success on the writing side recently. I've been so down, that it is has been difficult to focus on my mystery novel or much of anything else, to be honest. Next month, I hope that will not be the case. There are all sorts of organizational tasks on my resolution list as well and I am slowly (very slowly) picking away at those. Over the weekend, my plan is to totally redo my home office. My husband bought me a new bookshelf at IKEA the other day, because I managed to fill all of my other bookshelves. (Reading is a must!) So, a new one will be added and everything will be reorganized from top to bottom. Though I don't look forward to the task itself, I am looking forward to the end result. <br /><p>So long January! Small samples make it possible to test and try different products without splurging on a full sized version. It is the easiest way to determine whether a product is (or is not) right for you. Thankfully, a handful of Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin samples are in my possession. I already enjoy a lot of products from the brand, but these samples make it possible to find out whether there are others from Kylie Cosmetics or <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2021/10/kylie-jenner-week-early-impressions.html">Kylie Skin</a> that might be appropriate to add to the rotation. Ready to find out more about these products? Keep reading for all of the details and mini reviews. </p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p>First thing is first. What samples were there to test and try? From Kylie Cosmetics, there was the <a href="https://kyliecosmetics.com/en-ca/collections/kylie-cosmetics-lips-liquid-lipsticks/products/matte-liquid-lipstick?variant=43927623270642">Matte Liquid Lipstick</a> sample (complete with a mini applicator brush...so cute) in the shade Mary Jo K. This particular lipstick shade is described as a "true blue red," and it certainly is that. Most of the other liquid lipsticks that I've tried from the brand in recent years have been versions of pink and brown - though there were a few more daring colours included in the Koko Kollection and In Love With the Koko Kollection, both of which were released many years ago now. I tend to gravitate towards pinks, browns, and purple lipstick shades, but it was nice to be reminded of how powerful a red lipstick can be. Maybe the next time that I am browsing products from Kylie Cosmetics, I will keep my eyes peeled for a full sized version of Mary Jo K. It is a gorgeous and bold colour!</p><p>As for the Kylie Skin products included in this bundle of samples, there was the mini Face Moisturizer in a small tube and in a small packet. This is a product that I have tried before (check out that review <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2022/04/kylie-skin-kylie-cosmetics-mini-haul.html">here</a>) and really enjoy. I have repurchased the full-sized version several times, so it was especially nice to have mini versions to take away with me different places. There were a few other familiar products as well, including the Walnut Face Scrub and the Eye Cream. The face scrub works well, but it is a bit harsh, so it isn't something that I reach for all that often. That being said, this mini version was a nice little extra to add into my skin care routine recently, since my skin has been really dry with the cold winter temperatures. It needed a good scrub! As for the Eye Cream, that was a product that I had a full-sized version of and used completely. I haven't purchased another version (I've been testing out a different eye cream more recently) but it was nice to have this one back for a little while. The sample lasted for a few days and was a good reminder that this is a product that I want to re-purchase in the future. Now for the new-to-me product from Kylie Skin, the Detox Face Mask. This charcoal mask is supposed to deeply cleanse the skin, tackle clogged pores, and provide hydration. I actually really liked this mask sample. The mask worked well and made my skin feel a million times better afterward. This is one product that I will be adding to my shopping cart the next time I am out. </p><p>Samples are a great way to try new things, be reminded of old favourites, or find travel sized versions of beauty must haves. It was wonderful to put some of these Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin items to use recently...and dream about future purchases.</p><p>Have you tried anything from Kylie Cosmetics or Kylie Skin? Especially when that to-do list feels overwhelming and the schedule is a little too full for comfort. That seems to sum things up for me lately. The last remaining days of January have decided to be full, busy, and downright hectic at times, between work, family stuff, and various personal responsibilities. Though I struggled a lot to get focused and check tasks off of my to-do list during the first couple weeks of the new year...I am being forced to get my head in the game. Thank goodness for no brainer beauty products. One that I have been reaching for the last several days is the neutral eyeshadow quad from <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/11/fotd-cool-and-warm-makeup-look-feat-fmg.html">FMG Glimmer</a>, Goddess. There are some easy to wear neutrals included as well as some shimmers that make it possible to quickly and easily elevate a simple but glam makeup look. It is also described as an ultra-pigmented and versatile eyeshadow palette with four shades to achieve a neutral daytime or evening look. Clearly, this is an easy to use neutral palette that still adds a little sparkle and shine. (And if there is one thing I like, it is shimmer.) There is a sparkly gold, sparkly white, shimmery champagne, and matte brown. When I am running short on time, one of the sparkly shadows is applied all over the lid and then the matte brown is added through the crease for a little contrast. I love that it is possible to create a bold and dramatic look in minutes. </p><p>The packaging for the <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search?q=fmg+glimmer">FMG Glimmer palette</a> is fairly standard. It is red and black plastic and there is a mirror inside. This set also comes with a double ended sponge-tip applicator. Though I prefer using makeup brushes to makeup sponges, the applicator included works really well on the shimmers. (The shimmery products apply more intensely with the sponge-tip applicators.) The matte brown has a nice level of pigmentation and the shimmers are ultra sparkly and have a gorgeous finish. All in all, the quality is good and the products work well. It is nice to have this eyeshadow palette on hand when I only have a few minutes to throw myself together. A little shimmer and a matte brown is all that is needed to create something fabulous.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4dxLMcowQnWuYW2VtqpWPBookKbqduhbcuFwtx9PSrARqcts6hvzHzTPHafzeF781FzUzoXABXcHXAZaJ-2EE3umai3pj3FBwajTlaGhWq0iacpD2nbtVaouc66ia93QaabngIUi_wXdAfUQX3wgLsxTpJ-M_fPNQcODb8Hg0EQOpwLcznUnA-lUBi4DL/s759/fmg01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="631" data-original-width="759" height="532" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4dxLMcowQnWuYW2VtqpWPBookKbqduhbcuFwtx9PSrARqcts6hvzHzTPHafzeF781FzUzoXABXcHXAZaJ-2EE3umai3pj3FBwajTlaGhWq0iacpD2nbtVaouc66ia93QaabngIUi_wXdAfUQX3wgLsxTpJ-M_fPNQcODb8Hg0EQOpwLcznUnA-lUBi4DL/w640-h532/fmg01.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>For the look above, the champagne shade was applied all over the lid. A bit of the golden shimmer was added to the center of the lid and then the matte brown was applied through the crease. The white shimmer was added to the inner corner and underneath the brow bone. To finish it all off, that matte brown was applied along the lower lash line as well for a little extra dose of glamour. It only took a few minutes to create this particular look, so I was able to move on with my to-do list.<div><br /></div><div>Do you have any quick and easy beauty products you like to use? It seems like only yesterday, we were celebrating the start of a shiny new year....and now 2024 is well underway. Though 2024 has had a bit of a slower start for me (the January blues arrived earlier in the month and I am only just starting to feel like myself again)...there are been good moments scattered throughout. Like nights at the movies, listening to John Denver records, and re-focusing on some personal goals. Something else that has been making me smile? The <a href="https://www.bhcosmetics.com/garnet-for-january-7-color-shadow-palette/14022310.html">BH Cosmetics Garnet For January 7 Color Shadow Palette</a>. This was a previous Winners find for $5.99 CDN that I had been intentionally saving for January to roll around. Garnet is the birthstone for January and is thought to represent protection, friendship, trust, commitment, and love. This gorgeous red stone is represented well in the BH Cosmetics release thanks to the themed packaging, eyeshadow names, and colour story. Ready to take a closer look? On the front is the garnet inspired design and the inside has lots of themed eyeshadow names. Each one is related to the traits of garnet as a birthstone: Loyal, Sensitive, and Go-Getter are a few examples. There are six eyeshadow shades and one bold blush included, but all of the items could work on the eyes. According to the brand, this is a "multi-faceted vegan mix of fiery glitters and staple shades. Each smooth matte and dramatic shimmer offers extra long-lasting wear and high-impact pigment payoff so you can rock endless eye looks." The small cardboard packaging is cute and easy to store. As for the actual shadows, there are four mattes, two shimmers, and one glitter included inside.<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7cr-qHLuyGoVu8kIpe2N72QUY_wMvPvIKQ1apwYqf3Joc-jGB0h6Vh03Gsv-v_mo9TJzyRKbEFFTpBmfgSKIQw7ctcfB3UBIpCwNtelt_P3GBE-jybL0fw0w6C_ADK8ceE-yX6TMqc0AbrQGLFCRwIgh9fY2YYc-MoplsNIcdo-vvUu7KunD33z7PDzSD/s846/bh1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="705" data-original-width="846" height="534" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7cr-qHLuyGoVu8kIpe2N72QUY_wMvPvIKQ1apwYqf3Joc-jGB0h6Vh03Gsv-v_mo9TJzyRKbEFFTpBmfgSKIQw7ctcfB3UBIpCwNtelt_P3GBE-jybL0fw0w6C_ADK8ceE-yX6TMqc0AbrQGLFCRwIgh9fY2YYc-MoplsNIcdo-vvUu7KunD33z7PDzSD/w640-h534/bh1.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>The Garnet shade is in a large pan, which is why I have primarily been using it as a blush, though it could absolutely be worn on the eyes as well. It is a gorgeous shimmery red. That particular product can be worn more intense of sheered out slightly for a softer look. Loyal is a warm deep brown, Go-Getter is a matte cherry red, Werks It is a deeper cool toned brown, Productive AF is a bold white shimmer, Sensitive is a matte beige, and Street Smart is a black and silver glitter. All of the shadows work well and I like the variety that is included. The shadows are richly pigmented and look absolutely beautiful. The only shade that requires a little extra work is Street Smart, the black and silver glitter. While I love that glitter combination, a glitter glue is needed in order for the glitter to really stay put and build properly. Though there is a lot to love about the Garnet For January palette in general, my personal favourite shades are Productive AF (it is so bold and shimmery) and Werks It (I have a weakness for cool toned eyeshadows). I also adore the Garnet shade. Blush or eyeshadow...it doesn't matter to me! The brand stopped being sold at the drugstore nearest to me - with only limited items available at a drugstore a little further away. The exception? <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2024/01/does-it-work-hard-candy-holiday-sets.html">Holiday items from Hard Candy</a> that were found in the seasonal section. So, imagine my shock and delight when the Hard Candy Look Pro! Eyeshadow Palette in All That Rose Gold was at the dollar store for a mere $5 CDN. It was too good a find to overlook, especially given how inconsistently Hard Candy products have been available lately. This is a brand that I have long loved. Honestly, it was partially responsible for kicking my love of makeup into high gear. In the past, Hard Candy had lots of trendier beauty products for a fraction of the price. It was the perfect way for me to experiment with different colours and finishes...without overspending. Needless to say, Hard Candy is one beauty brand that I hold near and dear to my heart. On that note, here is everything you need to know about the All That Rose Gold eyeshadow palette from Hard Candy.<div><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjixmL6or5OT7viZ6ncT6uyfMGGv6r1DIKiSb531bj3Gi20w9duWlLXR4GtNAgSU63mkDejX6foGB-VXb6_R6FmDmSrcaivnVeJa2S3HOy2fs7rS1_ifVhKqZPxmmopSo8eGWk1FZnuH0BkiZGLWb9hZf7zHnornEUTITGK9ldDh-dmajYBJt0-HQ1Fjc3X/s918/hardcandy03.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="639" data-original-width="918" height="446" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjixmL6or5OT7viZ6ncT6uyfMGGv6r1DIKiSb531bj3Gi20w9duWlLXR4GtNAgSU63mkDejX6foGB-VXb6_R6FmDmSrcaivnVeJa2S3HOy2fs7rS1_ifVhKqZPxmmopSo8eGWk1FZnuH0BkiZGLWb9hZf7zHnornEUTITGK9ldDh-dmajYBJt0-HQ1Fjc3X/w640-h446/hardcandy03.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>This particular eyeshadow palette looks the same as all of the other Look Pro! Eyeshadow Palettes (<a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2020/01/pros-and-cons-smoke-out-eyeshadow.html">here is one example</a>) and has a clear plastic cover with a studded detail on the front and a sturdy plastic base. To open the palette, there is a small button on the front that you press in. Though the materials are basic plastic, the little details, like the studs and the push button on the front, elevate this drugstore makeup experience. As for the colour story? This is right up my alley. There are lots of warm neutrals, pinks, reds, and different metallics thrown into the mix. The palette has a combination of matte and shimmer shades (which is always a plus) and has light, medium, and dark eyeshadows to choose from. This is a versatile and well rounded release. I love that it is possible to create daytime looks, evening looks, and everything in between. Something to note? There are eyeshadow names printed on the back of the palette. Though it is always preferable for those to be printed on the inside of the palette, drugstore releases don't always have eyeshadow names at all, so I like that time was taken to add in that extra detail. Even better is the fact that all of the names are loved themed. Some examples include: Love Affair, Roses, and Heart Beat. With Valentine's Day not so far off in the future, the love and romance theme is especially delightful. <br /><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMONB-iZgyfKlK-DHwWlZpV1Cs8ApFWfMlZR_NM2bRApgdayy-Njn_UzsCeAghtD11YInJiGdjH0Pja_0AaIgpnRMkDs5f0w5oHchYKFxaolNCTGfrKw9pXAjn6oSA5WqPhEu1BLTu9t3BSi97w1VrMAV92cvc038oy3uq33nZec4mIdVHgL3kpyLSekJy/s905/hardcandy01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="905" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMONB-iZgyfKlK-DHwWlZpV1Cs8ApFWfMlZR_NM2bRApgdayy-Njn_UzsCeAghtD11YInJiGdjH0Pja_0AaIgpnRMkDs5f0w5oHchYKFxaolNCTGfrKw9pXAjn6oSA5WqPhEu1BLTu9t3BSi97w1VrMAV92cvc038oy3uq33nZec4mIdVHgL3kpyLSekJy/w640-h478/hardcandy01.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Now to talk about the actual quality of the palette. Does the <a href="https://hardcandy.com/">Hard Candy</a> Look Pro! Eyeshadow Palette in All That Rose Gold work well? Was it worth the $5 CDN price tag? In short, yes. These shadows are really nicely pigmented. Especially that black eyeshadow, which really packs a punch. The pinks and reds are also gorgeous. I love the shimmers as well. Those finishes are stunning and the colour payoff is impressive. I especially love Heart Breaker (shimmery red) and Marry Up (shimmery gold). The colours are beautiful and this is one eyeshadow palette that I am certain to reach for over and over and over again. <div><br /></div><div>All in all, the All That Rose Gold palette was a wonderful find. The discounted price was a bonus, but it was worth far more than $5 CDN. I love the combination of shimmers and mattes, the overall quality, and the themed eyeshadow names. This Hard Candy palette was a real winner and definitely one to add to your cart if you come across it on your travels. <br /><div><p>What do you think of this eyeshadow palette? When my husband and I first started dating, we quickly realized that there wasn't a lot of overlap in the kinds of movies that we liked. He was into action movies and superhero movies while I was into comedies, musicals, horror movies, romantic movies, and other such things. However, the minions were something we could both agree on. We have watched all of the Despicable Me and Minion movies released...and have some random minion merchandise scattered around our home. The adorable yellow characters are funny, silly, and beloved. Well, it was exciting to see my love of all things minion collide with my love of all things beauty, with the Vita-C Hydrogel Eye Patches from TonyMoly. I was instantly excited to try out the minion themed eye patches for myself. So....<a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/search/label/does%20it%20work">does it work??</a> It is time to find out. </p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p>TonyMoly is not a brand that I am familiar with or have tried anything from before. I really had no expectations about how (or if) the Vita-C Hydrogel Eye Patches would work. According to <a href="https://tonymoly.ca/">the brand</a>, the eye patches have Vitamin C and are intended to de-puff, hydrate, and refresh the skin around the eyes. Now that the winter weather is here (and all of the snow has arrived)...my skin has been in need of a little extra pampering. It seemed like the perfect time to test out these patches. </p><p>The packaging was quite large, considering there were only two little eye patches inside. That made it difficult to actually get to the eye patches. (The tear strip along the bottom was not enough. I had to get scissors and cut open the package to peel them out.) As for the scent, this has a nice light and refreshing scent. Nothing too over the top or distracting. Just the right amount of fragrance for something like this! The directions are simple: put on the under eye patches and leave them there for 20 minutes. These are straightforward to use and feel cooling on the skin. It is such a nice way to pamper yourself on a busy day. Something that I love? The design on the eye patches. There is this cute minion planet design with little stars (seen on the outer packaging) that is just downright adorable. It checked off all the boxes there. In terms of performance, these were pleasant to use, cooling, and made me feel pampered. Though my under eyes were hydrated and refreshed, I don't know that this delivered on the de-puffing claim. So...<a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/10/does-it-work-billion-dollar-beauty.html">does it work??</a> Yes. These are super cute, but also hydrating and refreshing. </p><p>Have you tried anything from TonyMoly? Specifically, the <a href="https://the-creationofbeauty.blogspot.com/2023/01/life-is-better-when-you-are-covered-in.html">Lise Watier Eye Glitter Liners</a>. The reason? Those Eye Glitter Liners are ideal for seasonal makeup looks. Adding on a little extra glitter is always a good idea, but it is especially wise once the winter weather arrives. This year, she gifted me a replacement set of the glitter liners as well as some other products from the brand. It has been a lot of fun to put everything to use. Ready to find out more? This set is the same as the one from last year, which means these check off all the boxes for me. It is wonderful to have replacement liners to use. There are three colours, Opale (iridescent white), Silver Stars (classic silver), and Smokey Glow (warm gold). Though all of them are wonderful, the Opale colour is my favourite. I love the gorgeous iridescent finish. These are described as glitter eye liners, and they are, but these are also really great glitters in general. I have applied them all over the lid before just to add on an extra splash of glitter - without needing to reach for a glitter glue. Whether worn as a liner or as a fun and sparkly add on, these Glitter Eye Liners are fabulous. It has been such a delight to use these...because glitter is always a must.<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxhqX7xyLMbBMh3Z_QGfLF5PXumAa_zyP9SMgXbygIULOrCUaJ_hEYuSrFGl5R7In6LCxDWqp91HtOXIOH9Y3H4mD1xq9Xopn3TtCNpXzENk4tazbVAsiWWcU1cmc0Gr0IaDk-4IO07AGviayKunXyUfyJikZatXBbOebh-pyhanNKBlKJUHYe5tkVhXQQ/s765/lisewatier3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="628" data-original-width="765" height="526" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxhqX7xyLMbBMh3Z_QGfLF5PXumAa_zyP9SMgXbygIULOrCUaJ_hEYuSrFGl5R7In6LCxDWqp91HtOXIOH9Y3H4mD1xq9Xopn3TtCNpXzENk4tazbVAsiWWcU1cmc0Gr0IaDk-4IO07AGviayKunXyUfyJikZatXBbOebh-pyhanNKBlKJUHYe5tkVhXQQ/w640-h526/lisewatier3.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><b>Lise Watier Magnifix Lips. </b>Next is the <a href="https://shop.shoppersdrugmart.ca/Luxury//Magnifix-Lips-Smoothing-Long-Lasting-Primer/p/BB_058655728183?">Magnifix Lips</a> product, which is a lip primer designed to smooth and soften the surface of the lips so lipsticks apply better and stay put for longer. This is such a great product and it works just as advertised. When it comes to lip products, I am a pretty low maintenance person. I don't like to reapply over and over again, which is why lip stains and liquid lipsticks are my preference for a day (or night) out. It's great to have a lip primer that can increase the wear time for some of the other lipsticks in my collection. This has become a new must have product for my makeup collection.<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ3P1_IaR3AptDksXB6kMiHFbhjLxa2-uNUNeqsSOR4CJbrwZYgKINCBThRg9chQHLXGe4CEGq6zMwDC_HkKNzrNWVZhqrfh-87kuMNvIxa6wXgmBRklMGq1BkCyXOEv3Fj_5ZuS2SWu9fJSE1s4VZMJtXn5QmeEFo95gfd7VAqmdkFCnkpGo6QIIBBQFw/s798/lisewatier4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="656" data-original-width="798" height="526" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ3P1_IaR3AptDksXB6kMiHFbhjLxa2-uNUNeqsSOR4CJbrwZYgKINCBThRg9chQHLXGe4CEGq6zMwDC_HkKNzrNWVZhqrfh-87kuMNvIxa6wXgmBRklMGq1BkCyXOEv3Fj_5ZuS2SWu9fJSE1s4VZMJtXn5QmeEFo95gfd7VAqmdkFCnkpGo6QIIBBQFw/w640-h526/lisewatier4.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><b>Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Supreme in Freida. </b>Another new to me Lise Watier product was the Rouge Fondant Supreme, which is a lipstick that combines "the benefits of a lip moisturizer with the power of antioxidants. Infused with concentrated Labrador Tea extract, this lipstick glides on easily, provides a lustrous finish, and leaves lips feeling incredibly soft and luminous." I love the fact that this lipstick is ultra hydrating, because I cannot stand having dry lips at all. (I always have a lip balm on hand. Literally always.) True to the brand claims, the Rouge Fondant Supreme is hydrating and glides on easily. As for the colour, Freida is a gorgeous berry colour with a nice shine. It is definitely the kind of lipstick colour that I love to wear. <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg78Mizn7vin61FEoGc_hjU65Z_n4s3SCcP7BD_eIGckIGa2eRQBxFw-RkYoLXd7MDhBbXTloHu0q9o-b6W0kRhUubJMo4YKnLIR8Bs2eDKxM7oESt5u82ZLiQADWrrjuZXjTNYTxFwnzHKQpLywsPqgSjhJ292qa5NTUJLfNYD0MukbjTzO_Qm9-MviIip/s901/lisewatier5.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="722" data-original-width="901" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg78Mizn7vin61FEoGc_hjU65Z_n4s3SCcP7BD_eIGckIGa2eRQBxFw-RkYoLXd7MDhBbXTloHu0q9o-b6W0kRhUubJMo4YKnLIR8Bs2eDKxM7oESt5u82ZLiQADWrrjuZXjTNYTxFwnzHKQpLywsPqgSjhJ292qa5NTUJLfNYD0MukbjTzO_Qm9-MviIip/w640-h512/lisewatier5.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><b>Lise Watier Stardust Eye Set. </b>The final item from Lise Watier is the Stardust Eye Set, which includes three different Glitter Liner and Shadows. The three colours above are Pegasis (pink), Vega (purple), and North Star (black). These can be worn as liners or as eyeshadows. Essentially, these are similar to the Glitter Eye Liners, but have a lot more colour. Though I love all of these, North Star is especially wonderful, because it can be added over a black liner to create a glittery effect. Since I adore black liner (which is clear if you have been reading my blog for any amount of time) it is a really wonderful add on. The other two colours are great as shimmery and glittery eyeshadows. I absolutely adore them o their own or paired with other products. <br /><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjOflqndtkKWjkP2hl_udZf4yMVIS66b5CqzR9krY2zgT67zFPlR_RGw_-f3cp76UVyhlU3wqHttjueM9HiKvov3LyF7VrMbiMauUYNxFnBXxJ3AzZiG4tYGpUQjPM5yBJKuSx7Cu8ZyOqdlV22f2P3ZQUecZuHmmdwLcsMycTzD9HL2_QHEtpmbLM-0wD/s789/lisewatier6.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="630" data-original-width="789" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjOflqndtkKWjkP2hl_udZf4yMVIS66b5CqzR9krY2zgT67zFPlR_RGw_-f3cp76UVyhlU3wqHttjueM9HiKvov3LyF7VrMbiMauUYNxFnBXxJ3AzZiG4tYGpUQjPM5yBJKuSx7Cu8ZyOqdlV22f2P3ZQUecZuHmmdwLcsMycTzD9HL2_QHEtpmbLM-0wD/w640-h512/lisewatier6.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>Above is a makeup look that put some of those products to the test. I used Pegasis and Vega on the eyelids and then wore the lip primer and lipstick on the lips. Since I have used the Glitter Eye Liners many times before, it made sense to highlight some of the new-to-me products instead. All in all, these Lise Watier products were a total success. I have absolutely loved using them.</div></div></div><div><br /></div><div>Have you tried Lise Watier products before?
