The last month of 2025 has officially arrived....and what a year it has been. The last eleven months have been extremely difficult for my family, with multiple members in and out of the hospital. Fingers crossed 2026 will be much better, but until then, it is time to make the most of what remains. December is a month that often makes me smile, even if it also stresses me out with all of the seasonal tasks that need to be done. What I love most? Christmas music on the radio, watching holiday movies, and making memories with loved ones. In honour of the last month of the year, here are some seasonal questions.
- Top Two Winter Beauty Essentials? With the cold temperatures, moisturizers are an absolute must. I have been reaching for Cath Kidston hand cream and the St. Ives Renewing Moisturizer. Staying moisturized is a must.
- Top Two Winter Fashion Essentials? Boots are a must, specifically my comfortable and warm Ugg boots. Other than that, oversized sweaters are an absolute essential. Staying warm and cozy is necessary during the winter season.
- Favourite Winter Accessory? This might sound silly, but there are these mini Santa hat hair clips that I have. I like to wear them throughout the holiday season. It is a fun accessory that adds a little magic to the winter months.
- Favourite Winter Nail Polish? I had a bright red one that I loved to wear for Christmas, but it ran out, so I am on the hunt for a replacement. In the meantime, there is a beautiful Christmas green colour in my collection that I enjoy.
- Hot Cocoa or Apple Cider? Definitely hot chocolate for me. There are currently a handful of different hot chocolate types in my cupboard, including Mint Chocolate, Turtles, and even some fun colour changing packets.
- Does it Snow Where You Live? Yes! It has snowed already. Fingers crossed there will be a white Christmas.
- Have You Ever Made a Snowman? When I was younger, there were always at least a few made each year. At this point, it has been a long time since I made a snowman. It seems to be less fun to play in the snow as an adult.
- What is Your Favourite Holiday Movie? This is a tough question, because I am completely obsessed with holiday movies. I watch them all year round and have hundreds in my collection. My absolute favourites are: Doug's Secret Christmas, A Christmas Story, A Christmas Story Christmas (the sequel that was released in 2022), Christmas with the Kranks, The Night Before Christmas, The Santa Clause movies, and The Christmas Gift (with John Denver).
- What is Your Favourite Holiday Drink? Probably hot chocolate! It is warm and delicious.
- Candy Cane or Gingerbread? Gingerbread! I have a serious obsessed with gingerbread. I love gingerbread scented soaps, candles, and sprays. And of course, I love gingerbread cookies and other gingerbread flavoured items.
- What's Your Favourite Holiday/Christmas Song? O Holy Night is probably my favourite in general, but I also really love That Christmas Feeling from Bing Crosby and That's What Christmas Means to Me by Eddie Fisher.
- What is Most Important to You About the Holidays? Having fun with the people that I love. No stress, just that warm, cozy, safe, peaceful feeling that seems to happen at random times during the holiday season.
Here is to a December that is memorable for all the right reasons. Whether 2025 was a year that was peaceful and fun...or a little less enjoyable...my hope is that the final month is all happiness. Fingers crossed we can end the year right.
