more beyond the gates inspired makeup looks.

Last summer, there was a post here on the creation of beauty is art. about the soap opera that I watch, Beyond The Gates. I described having an alarm set on my phone each weekday at 1:58 p.m. so I could watch the new episode. Thankfully, that alarm is no longer set, because the soap opera moved to a streaming service in my country. That has made it much easier to access. There is no more relying on an inconsistent antenna signal and I can watch the new episode whenever it fits into my day. While the way that I watch Beyond The Gates has changed, my love of the show, the fashion, and the makeup has remained. Every now and then, I take screenshots of Instagram posts or makeup featured in an episode with the intention of making it my own. On that note! This post is dedicated to even more Beyond The Gates inspired makeup looks.

Beyond The Gates Makeup Look #1: This first makeup look was featured on the Instagram account of Karla Mosley, who plays Dani Dupree on the show. It isn't as clear in the screenshot, but the makeup look featured some really beautiful neutrals on the eyelids and then a stunning cool toned purple lipstick. I used some of the makeup items in my collection to create something somewhat similar. There was a light golden shimmer applied to the eyelids and that was blended out with a matte brown. Though I normally am all about winged eyeliner, there was not any included in this specific look, so I had to skip it. As for eyelashes, I did not add on false lashes, because I do not love to wear them, and instead stuck with mascara. There was a cool toned purple lipstick from my collection used to tie it all together. Though this is not an exact recreation, it was fun to get inspired by such an incredible actress - and makeup look. I love cool toned lipsticks and need to remember to wear them more.

Beyond The Gates Makeup Look #2: Next is a look that was on the Instagram account for Colby Nixon, who plays Kat Richardson on Beyond The Gates. I loved the matte burgundy eyeshadow and the bright pop of blue along the lower lash line. That unexpected colour really elevated the overall makeup look - and I knew that it would push me out of my makeup comfort zone a little bit. To create this Beyond The Gates inspired makeup look, there was a cream coloured matte eyeshadow applied all over the lid and then a matte burgundy shade was blended through. I tried to mimic the colours as closely as possible and found some similar shades in my collection. Then the brightest blue eyeshadow in my collection was used along the lower lash line. There was a neutral lip liner and lipstick applied so the focus would be on the eyes. This makeup look was fun to create.
