does it work?? mini fingers make-up puff and carrying case set

Every now and then, there is a makeup tool that intrigues me. One example is the Mini Fingers Make-Up Puff and Carrying Case Set from Danielle Creations. Though this is not a brand that I had heard of previously, this little set was available at Winners. It caught my eye because of the interesting concept and affordable price. As you can see, the set comes with a little clear carrying case and all sorts of mini makeup puffs in a variety of colours. So...does it work?? Keep reading for all the details.

There are some pros and cons when it comes to the Mini Fingers Make-Up Puff and Carrying Case Set from Danielle Creations. The pros? The carrying case is a nice way to keep all of the little mini puffs together. I also like that the puffs come in different colours. The small size makes it possible to apply product to the undereye area with ease (like loose powders and concealers) and the applicator itself is well constructed. There is essentially a sponge material on one side and a little loop of fabric on the other side to slide your finger through. It is simple to use and the materials are sturdy. The concept is excellent and the design appears to be thoughtful. Due to the small size, these puffs are appropriate for travel and for makeup touch ups on-the-go.

Now to address the cons. Though the packaging states that these small puffs can be used either wet or dry, they are not overly effective when used dry. It just doesn't seem to handle the product well. Though the applicator size is ideal....the actual application is not. It would be easier and more effective to apply products with a clean finger than to use this little applicator. As for wet application, where the sponge has been dampened before use, the results are better but not extraordinary. For instance, the dampened sponge does not make the application of concealer any better than a standard brush. However, it does work well for the application of liquid blushes, like the Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes from Rare Beauty. It seems a bit silly to have a whole carrying case worth of small applicators that I will only use every now and then for liquid blush, but at least now I know.

So...does it work?? Eh. Sort of. The Mini Fingers Make-Up Puff and Carrying Case Set from Danielle Creations has some pros and cons, but all in all, this set was not a winner. I will certainly use these for the application of liquid blushes, but this particular set did not meet my expectations. The idea is there, but the sponge material used doesn't seem to work that well.

Have you tried anything from this brand before? What makeup tools do you like to use?
