current obsession: paris hilton cosmetics (pretty woman nail polish)

Freshly painted nails? Check. And that is all thanks to the Pretty Woman set from Paris Hilton Cosmetics. It is no secret that I love a good nail polish. In fact, there are several nail polish brands that stand out in my collection, like Essie, Sally Hansen, and well...maybe even Paris Hilton Cosmetics. This affordable nail polish set was something that was added to my shopping cart several months ago. Though I was eager to review it here on the creation of beauty is art. it was important that tried out each and every nail polish shade in the set first. Curious about how these polishes performed? Here is everything you need to know about the Pretty Woman 8-Piece Nail Polish Set from Paris Hilton Cosmetics. 

It is always difficult to know whether an item from Paris Hilton Cosmetics will be a hit or a miss. More recently, there was a mascara set that veered on the miss side of things...but in the past, there have been eyeshadow shades and cheek products that have been absolutely incredible. So, you never really know what you are going to get with this affordable celebrity brand. When it comes to the Pretty Woman set? It is a total winner. First of all, the shades included in the set are incredible. There are holographic top coats, soft pink colours, a nude shade, and dazzling purples. These are all of the nail polish shades that I expect from Paris Hilton, so the colours absolutely make sense. I also love that there are top coats, shimmery finishes, and standard glossy polishes to choose from. For the look above, I used the first two colours in the set. That baby pink is a favourite and I loved adding the holographic shade over top of a few of the nails for an extra splash of shimmer and shine. 

In terms of the actual quality? These are impressive. The first coat goes on really thin, but the second coat makes it possible to reach full colour payoff. Two coats is not bad at all, especially because these polishes dry extremely quickly. Two minutes between coats is all you need and fifteen minutes or so means the polish won't be smudged or squished. (I am always so impatient waiting for my nails to dry and often end up destroying them in some day. That is why fast drying polishes are always preferred.) There is also impressive wear time as well. These polishes lasted between one and two weeks before showing signs of wear. The only thing that I would change about this nail polish set from Paris Hilton Cosmetics? The fact that there are no names for the nail polishes. It is a little detail, but everything else is so thoughtfully done. From the shade selection to the variety of finishes to the outer packaging and the Paris Hilton logo printed on the front of each bottle...and yet there are no names. It is a missed opportunity to add a little extra A-list flair to this otherwise stellar release. 

All in all, this set is a serious obsession. I love these nail polishes so much and love that it is possible to achieve gorgeous nails in a short amount of time. When it comes to nails, Paris Hilton Cosmetics has hit it out of the park.
