holiday wrap up: H&M accessories advent review

It was the most wonderful time of the year. Sadly, it has all come to a close. It amazes me how quickly time passes and how fast all of that seasonal magic seems to fade away once the New Year begins. Not to worry! There is still a little more magic to enjoy, courtesy of today's blog post. On Boxing Day, I picked up an accessories advent calendar at H&M. Though I hadn't shopped there in a while, I actually found quite a few items that caught my eye. That included an ultra long sweatshirt, a Jingle Bells t-shirt, and of course, the advent calendar. The latter was originally $29.99 but had been reduced to $9.99 with an additional 20% off. Though the price tag was initially a bit high....the reduced price made it an affordable way to keep the holiday spirit alive.

There were twenty four days in all and the first day featured a chain bracelet. Then, as the days went on, there were tons of different items. That included everything from sparkly hair ties to rings, clip on earrings, a necklace chain, and lots of adorable holiday charms. Being honest, the rings and earrings fell short, in my opinion. As you can see above, they are pretty basic and standard. They also don't really say Christmas or holiday season to me. Those pieces were sadly lacking in that something special. The hair ties on the other hand were much better. They are all super cute and sparkly and definitely offer that holiday spirit.

Now for the good stuff. There were so many fabulous charms! Each one was colourful, cute, and perfectly festive. It included: three different bells (gold, pink, and red), a golden heart, a golden star, two sparkly stars (multi-coloured glitter and gold glitter), a reindeer, a candy cane, two angels (one in gold and one in white), a smiling Christmas tree, penguin, snowman, and of course, a Santa Claus charm. In addition to the bracelet, the set also included a necklace chain as well. That means you can add one charm or add them all for an ultra fun and festive charm bracelet. These are certain to add a dash of adorable seasonal flavor to each and every holiday look.

Since I picked this up after Christmas, I won't be getting a ton of use out of these pieces this year. But when December 2019 rolls around, I know this little set will make me smile all over again. It was well worth the gamble!

Are you a fan of beauty advent calendars? Did you open any this year?
