shopping haul (sephora, hot topic, indigo, and more)

Shopping used to be a regular occurrence in my life. I would hit the mall as often as possible, coming home with an armful of bags, each one loaded with new and exciting purchases. Over the last several years, that has slowed. And more recently? I haven't done any shopping at all. I have been focused on saving money, thinking before I spend, and being mindful of what I already own. Despite this shift, I wound up doing a bit of shopping...two days in a row.

The first day of shopping was spent at a local mall with my mom while the second took me downtown for a bit of retail therapy with a good friend. Though temptation lurked everywhere, I felt good about my choices. I only bought items that filled me with joy and as a result, didn't overspend. On that note! Here is everything that I took home with me during this two day shopping haul.

Day One

The first day involved a stop off at Sephora, where I picked up the Makeup For Ever Star Lit palette (all of the shades are super sparkly) and the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Zero. I also purchased a pair of sparkly square earrings on sale at Hudson's Bay and an Alaska t-shirt from Hot Topic (my all-time favourite drag queen). It was a really fun day and I adore everything that went home with me.

Day Two

The second day was definitely about catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while...but of course, there was lots of shopping to be had as well! I wound up at Sephora once again, where I picked up the Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions mini eyeshadow palette. I also snagged a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt (on sale) at Uniqlo along with a few books from Indigo. They were all from authors that I respect and admire: Candace Cameron Bure, Lindsey Kelk (who I met a few years back), and Joanne Fluke.

Shopping can be a lot of fun. Even when I don't massively overspend! This is something that I am continuing to learn and remind myself of. While I love to shop my little heart out, sometimes, a more thoughtful approach can make a world of difference.

Have you done any shopping lately? What did you pick up?
