love it or leave it? taylor swift toy story 5 premiere

In two days, the latest Toy Story movie will hit the big screen. As a Disney lover, there is a lot of excitement about a new addition to the popular series. Toy Story 5 will feature some familiar characters as well as some new ones to love. I am eagerly anticipating a trip to the movie theater in the next little while. Something else that has made me excited about the new movie? The fact that Taylor Swift released a song for the soundtrack, "I Knew It, I Knew You." She attended the Toy Story 5 premiere recently and wore a dress from the Erdem fall collection, which means it is time for another love it or leave it post.

What I Love: There is so much to love about this premiere look. The horseshoe necklace, the neutral shoes, the beautiful hairstyle, and the bold red lipstick. Wow! Talk about a red carpet moment. As for the dress, the upper portion of the design is incredible. I love how clean and thoughtful it is. The sleeve design is perfection and I love the sparkly details as well.

What I Loathe: The upper portion of the dress is so clean and classic. The bottom portion of the dress? Messy and chaotic. Sometimes, the contrast is nice, but in this case, it is a bit distracting. The side panels seem like more of an afterthought than anything else. This is probably because of the unfinished edges along the bottom. This dress could've been really elegant (and it is in the upper portion) but instead it is a bit off. The mismatched patterns and unfinished edges were a confusing choice. 

So, it is a love it or leave it? Even though the added on panels are not my favourite, the rest of this red carpet look from Taylor Swift is absolute perfection. I understand the design conceptually, but the unfinished edges and contrasting panels take away from how clean and thoughtful the rest of the dress is. This look is a love, but there is a little bit that I would rather leave.
