mini reviews: three l'oreal mascaras

There are so many mascaras out there. Finding ones that stand out can involve a little trial and error. Ever since my favourite mascara was discontinued, there have been a handful of others involved in my makeup routine. The one that I have been reaching for most often is the Lash Without Limits Mascara from Essence. However, there are a few others that have been put to the test as well thanks to a Costco set that my parents purchased for me. It included three different L'Oreal mascaras.

Telescopic Lift Mascara. The first mini review is for the Telescopic Lift Mascara from L'Oreal. This has sleek black packaging and a wand with shorter bristles. The bristle design makes application simple on both the lower and upper lashes - and this has an intense black colour. According to the brand, this thickens and lengthens the lashes, providing instant volume. Check, check, and check. This adds lots of thickness to the lashes (which is a must for me) but still delivers on the length. I like the packaging, the formula, and the overall result. It has been nice to put this to the test. I would happily use this mascara again in the future, but since the price is much higher than the Essence mascara mentioned earlier ($23 CDN versus $6 CDN), it is unlikely that I will seek this mascara out on my own. It performs well, but there are affordable alternatives that perform similarly.

Telescopic Mascara. Next is the Telescopic Mascara from L'Oreal. This has a telescope inspired design (which is thoughtful and fun) and a brush with thin bristles. The intention is that the flat side combined with the comb design will separate and lengthen the lashes. This really focuses on length, length, and more length. The mascara definitely provides lash separation and a nice amount of length, but it is not my favourite of the three. This just comes down to personal preference. I like there to be a lot of volume, which is not the focus of this particular mascara. That being said, it delivers on the brand claims.

Lash Paradise Mascara. The last mini review is the Lash Paradise Mascara from L'Oreal. This is one that I remember trying previously, but never reviewed on the creation of beauty is art. This mascara has a fluffy wand and the mascara claims to provide fuller looking lashes. It is also suitable for sensitive eyes. Though a lot of the mascaras that I like tend to have those smaller bristles, the fluffier wand works well on the upper lashes. (It can be a little more challenging on the lower lashes.) The end result is a fuller looking lashes and a little extra length. This is a solid mascara, but not necessarily one that I would seek out. Like the others included in this mini review, the mascara is over $20 CDN. It is hard to justify that extra cost when there are more affordable options at the drugstore. All of the L'Oreal mascaras featured in this post work well and meet the brand claims. The mascaras are effective and can be chosen based on your own personal lash preferences. (The Telescopic Lift is probably my favourite.) All that said, there are drugstore alternatives that work just as well and cost a whole lot less.

Have you tried any of these L'Oreal mascaras? What mascara do you use most often?

  2. It has been a long time since I have purchased new mascaras...
I have forgotten which brand I picked last...
I do remember having difficulty trying to be neat on my lower lashes, and also having problems with clumping.
The L'Oreal Telescopic Lift Mascara looks like it would be worth a try to me!
I will look forward to watching your next makeup-beauty YouTube video tutorial if you decide to make one! :-)

    1. It can be tricky working with the lower lashes, especially if the mascara wand is too large. I appreciate your comment so much <3

  4. Finding the right mascara can indeed be a challenge! I usually stick to the cheaper drugstore brands and on the occasion I tried a more expensive one, I haven't found it any better than Essence and the like. It's nice that you were able to try these, and I'm definitely loving the sound of the first one ... the price not so much though :-) xxx

  5. It's so true that finding a good mascara is all about trial and error, and it's awesome that your parents got you set to try it out. I use to get nice mascara back in Ukraine.
