When thinking about the makeup look I wanted to create for a get together with an old friend, the vibe was immediately clear: smokey summertime. Despite the fact that
summer is still underway (with the high temperatures making life more difficult)...my heart is longing for the fall season. Warm colours, vampy makeup looks, and all the rest. So, for this smokey summertime look, I wanted to take darker, richer colours, and combine them with something a little bit brighter.
To create this shop my stash makeup look, there were three main beauty products that were used: the
Chill Connection Creative Beauty Palette from Kara Beauty, the Hybrid Blush in Slow Jam from Kylie Cosmetics, and the Lux Lip Oil in Team Jacob from ColourPop. The Chill Connection Creative Beauty palette is one that I have used many times in the past, but certain colours tend to be used more than others. Knowing that I wanted to create a smokey summertime look, there were a few must have shades that needed to be incorporated. I primarily focused on the colours in the bottom corner - Ash, Wondering, and Daze. Those are gorgeous cool toned eyeshadows that make my fall loving heart happy. To pull in some colour to make it more summer inspired, the shade Chillax, an iridescent blue shimmer, was also used. The idea was to create a little contrast.

To create the look above, the shade Ash was applied all over the lid with the deeper matte shade, Wondering, added through the crease. It was all blended out with Daze. Then the iridescent blue shimmer was added to the center of the lid and the inner corner for that subtle pop of colour. A small amount of the
Hybrid Blush in Slow Jam from Kylie Cosmetics was applied to the cheeks (this is a bold shade, so a little goes a long way) for something warm but colourful. Then my all-time favourite, the Lux Lip Oil in Team Jacob from ColourPop was added to the lips for a dark but wearable look. This shop my stash makeup made use of some beloved products - and combined my favourite elements of fall makeup while still incorporating a bit of summer style.
What do you think of this makeup look? Are there any products in your makeup collection that have stood out recently?
