review: kylie cosmetics hybrid blush in slow jam

My husband and I officially celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary today, but truth be told, we have been celebrating it for the last little while. Instead of doing something special on our actual anniversary, we took a vacation to Walt Disney World at the end of May. We also took a day trip to a random shopping mall and visited Ottawa for Canada Day. There have certainly been some special days spent together over the last little while. While visiting that random shopping mall, which was a fairly lengthy drive, we found a few fun items. One example? My husband treated me to the new Hybrid Blush from Kylie Cosmetics.

There are eight different colours included in the Hybrid Blush line, but it was the shade Slow Jam that instantly caught my eye. It is no secret that I have a weakness for purple makeup products...whether that is eyeshadow, lipstick, or blush. So, this jam coloured blush was downright thrilling to see. Some of the other colours in the line were likely better suited to me, like pinks and corals, but Slow Jam was far more interesting. Since I believe that makeup should be fun...the colourful blush won out.

The Hybrid Blush from Kylie Cosmetics claims to be a hybrid blush that "melts into the skin like a cream, but has the soft-focus, smoothing effect of a powder." It is supposed to be suede-like and weightless, highly pigmented, blendable, and offers "seamless, mistake-proof application." I like the idea of a blush that is creamy, pigmented, and easy to blend. And as mentioned before, the colour was also a draw. This comes in simple soft pink packaging and has the Kylie Cosmetics logo printed on the front. There is a mirror inside and 0.08 oz of product in total. The blush has a smooth texture and blends really well. It is as pigmented as the brand claims, so be aware of that before application. This is ultra colourful and can be used sparingly for a more subtle look or worn full out for a bold creation. I love the warm colour and the impressive blush formula.

Overall, the Hybrid Blush from Kylie Cosmetics was a success. The brand claims are accurate and the blush colour, Slow Jam, is really unique. I love that the selection of colours included all sorts of staples (pink and coral) but also included some deeper colours, like brown, red, and this jam coloured blush. There is something in this line to suit all colour preferences.

Have you tried a Hybrid Blush from Kylie Cosmetics? What blush have you been reaching for lately?
