bath and body works: post-holiday sale haul

It is always nice when at-home favourites are on sale. Bath & Body Works is one of my most visited stores, but mainly around the holiday season. I love all of the products that are available (candles, body wash, soap, lotion, body mist, and all the rest) and often purchase enough seasonal releases to last me the rest of the year. Though the spring and summer products are lovely and refreshing...fall and winter is my time to shine. I recently decided to look at the Bath & Body Works website on a whim. This is not something I have ever done before, as I always purchase products in-store. But for whatever reason, I decided to see if there were any holiday items left. Turns out, there were, and those items were nicely discounted. There were many items that tempted me, but in the end, it was the Wallflowers refills that I decided to purchase. Wallflowers are essentially room fragrances. Scents make me happy and so I often have a Wallflower plugged in. These were on sale for $3.50 CDN (normally $8.95 CDN) and were all holiday inspired. In the end, fifteen were purchased, so I am now fully stocked.

There is something so lovely about the different Wallflowers scents. They make my home feel extra cozy. Though there were many different holiday options when I was browsing, it was the scent descriptions that influenced my decisions. (One reason that in-store shopping is always my preference, especially for Bath & Body Works, is that I can smell the different scents before purchasing. These online purchases were essentially gambles.) The bulk of my order was the scent Iced Ginger Snap. I added ten of these to my online shopping cart, because as noted many times before, my obsession with gingerbread is intense. This Wallflowers scent is described as: fresh ginger, baked cookie dough, and vanilla glaze. It smells like a delicious iced gingerbread cookie. I almost immediately plugged in an Iced Ginger Snap and now my home smells incredible. Was it weird to purchase ten of the exact same scent? Maybe. But now I can rest easy knowing that it will smell like the holiday season all year round.

The other Wallflowers that were added to my shopping cart are Santa's Workshop (north pole air, peppermint rainbow swirl, and sugar crystals), Frosted Sleigh Ride (soft white snow, iced pine forest, and fresh air), Mrs. Claus' Cocktail (sparkling cranberry, pomegranate juice, and frosted citrus twist), Christmas Cabin (spiced clove, crackling fireplace, and cozy cabin), and Stockings By The Fire (crackling birch wood, warm vetiver, and dark amber). As mentioned, these were purchased online, so there was some uncertainty about whether or not the scents would be my preference. I really tried to base my choices on the descriptions provided. Thankfully, all of them are quite nice, though I'm not sure Frosted Sleigh Ride would have been one I would've chosen in-store. On the other hand, there is part of me that regrets not adding additional ones of Mrs. Claus' Cocktail. I love it so much! Ahh well, live and learn. At least these Wallflowers were discounted and holiday themed.

As mentioned earlier, this was my first time ordering anything online from Bath & Body Works. I have to say, the experience was positive. The site was easy to use, there were discounted items, and the products arrived fairly quickly. There was also a ton of bubble wrap in the box to make sure the Wallflowers did not break. All in all, it was a good experience and I would be open to purchasing products online again, even though my preference will always be to visit a physical store.

Are you a fan of Bath & Body Works products? What kind of scents do you like to have in your home?
