holiday scent collection (fragrance mists and body sprays)

There is a lot to love about the holiday season...scents included. During this time of year, there are all sorts of seasonal candles and essential oil blends making my home smell fabulous. However, there are also fragrance mists and body sprays regularly thrown into the mix. (I have made a promise not to purchase more for the next little while, since there is a nice assortment.) Sometimes, these are used as room sprays, and other times, as a festive perfume. Here is a closer look at my collection.

my christmas record collection.

Sometimes, people say that I was born in the wrong decade. And sometimes, I think they are right. If only for my love of records and music from decades past. My obsession is largely focused around the 1970s but the 50s and 60s are also fair game. Perhaps it comes as no surprise then that I have built-up a sizable record collection. I have tons of different genres and decades covered! That includes holiday music. There are actually quite a few records floating around my collection that are dedicated to Christmas songs. Some are really old while others are more recent re-prints....but I love them all the same.

live your eyeliner, breathe your lipstick, and kill for each other.

Today's post is a little bit...random. Why? I came across this picture (the one above starring Ariel) the other day and it made me smile. It is just so true. When I think about my own makeup collection, I realize just how much stuff I have. Eyeshadow palettes, singles, trios, quads, liners, blushes, highlights, mascaras, primers, and everything else imaginable.

Despite this, I find myself buying more makeup, testing out new products, and lusting after products from Sephora. Will enough ever be enough? Probably not. I suppose there is a thrill in creating a new makeup look. Inspiration can be found in a new eyeliner or lipstick shade. In a new palette or collection. It can get you out of a rut. It can help you feel excited. New products work to remind us of the power of makeup - and expressing our creativity.

My makeup collection should be complete. But it's not. At least not yet. I continue to find inspiration from products old and new. Are you the same? Today, I challenge you to really think about your makeup collection. What inspires you to create new makeup looks? Is it new products? Re-discovered favourites? Think it over - and share your answers.

So, I hope you like this picture - and that it made you smile!

blushing is the color of virtue.

There is something bewitching about blush. I love the way it can completely pull together a makeup look, or change it from day to night with a few simple sweeps across the cheeks. With each shade, are endless possibilities. It is only in the last couple of years I really started wearing blush. Previously, I owned one neutral colour I wore only on occasion. As my love for makeup has grown over the years, so has my appreciation for blush! As it is now, I have a bit of an obsession. I own a lot of different shades by a lot of different brands, and I am always willing to try out a new blush colour!
