mini review: tresemme workable hairspray

I have always admired people who are talented with hair.  Over the years, I have read countless hairstyle books, watched far too many video tutorials, and made numerous attempts to do something with my hair other than straighten it with a flat iron or curl it with a curling iron. It seems that straight and curled hair are about it for me. Braids seem impossible, twists are a no, and even effortless waves seem anything but effortless. So, when it comes to hair styling products, my focus is really on protection and hold. In search of something that would address hold, it was the Workable Hairspray from TRESemme (part of The A-List Collection from the brand) that was intriguing to me. This is mostly because of the versatility. This hairspray is dual sided with both a strong hold and light hold option, making it possible to customize all sorts of different hairstyles. 

Since hair is not my strong suit (creating different makeup looks is far more enjoyable for me), the number of hair styling products that I have on hand at any given moment are few. I have a heat protectant spray, a mousse, and now, the Workable Hairspray from TRESemme. Later on in the week, my husband and I will be attending a convention a few hours away and my hope is to meet one of my childhood idols. In preparation for that event, this hairspray was added to my modest selection of hair styling products. Whatever I do with my hair on the day of the event, it needs to look decent for at least a few hours! I liked the idea of the Workable hairspray, because there is a dual sided feature that makes this a little more versatile. One side has a strong hold option and the other has a light hold option. On the day of the convention, the strong hold option will be essential, but when it comes to more common experiences, like heading to the movies or a date night, the light hold option would be preferable. I like that instead of purchasing two separate hairsprays that I will only ever use sporadically, there are two different versions in one bottle. Another bonus? The Workable Hairspray has been certified as a cruelty free product. 

I have been putting both the strong hold and light hold versions to the test in preparation for the convention - and for this mini review. The scent is much lighter than some other hairsprays that I have used in the past, which is nice. The light hold option gives the hair a bit of hold, but still leaves it feeling soft and natural. It also makes the hair look shiny and healthy. The strong hold option definitely does a lot more in terms of hold, but it still does not make the hair feel crunchy or heavy. I like that the Workable Hairspray is versatile, customizable, and effective. It was definitely a good find for someone like me who does not have a lot of hair styling products around. Fingers crossed that it will continue to meet my needs in the next little while.
