perfume week: thank u next 2.0 (review)

It is time for another theme week here on the creation of beauty is art. This time around, all posts will be dedicated to perfume reviews. The reason? A few perfumes were gifted to me during different holidays (Christmas and Valentine's Day) and I have been putting them to use ever since. It seemed like the perfect time to share some of my thoughts on these unforgettable scents. The first is thank u next 2.0 from Ariana Grande. There was a body mist and perfume set waiting under the Christmas tree for me back in December. Since I love so many Ariana Grande fragrances, this was happily received. Here is a full review...

The thank u next 2.0 set that I received included the Eau De Parfum Spray and Body Mist. There is 1.0 fluid ounces in the perfume bottle and 1.7 fluid ounces in the body mist bottle. The body mist comes in a cheap plastic packaging with a basic clear spray top, so the design is nothing to write home about. That being said, it is nice to have a body mist version of thank u next 2.0. I like to use this as a room spray or a little pick me up when I am at home. The actual perfume is something that I tend to use when I am heading out somewhere and need the scent to last a little longer. The actual perfume has a similar design to the original thank u next perfume (which can be seen here). It has a broken heart shaped base, but instead of pink like the original, it has a light purple colour. The round perfume bottle has an iridescent finish instead of the classic pink in the original.

thank u next 2.0 is described by the brand as being unapologetic, playful, and optimistic. The top notes are juicy apple, wild strawberry cream, and pomegranate. The middle notes are lush white orchid and jasmine petals. The base notes are whipped marshmallow, musk, and sandalwood. Like many other Ariana Grande scents, this is sweet and warm. I love that this smells fresh and fun, but still has lots of warmth thanks to those fabulous base notes. This is an ideal choice for spring - and is one that I have been reaching for a lot over the last several weeks. The bottle is beautiful and the scent is both sweet and warm.
