review: dip, shape, go! longwear brow pomade (nyx)

When it comes to brow products, there are some that work better than others. Most days, I am reaching for the Essence Eyebrow Designer Brow Pencil, but when I have a noteworthy event to attend, it is the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. (I love the latter, but my wallet sure doesn't, so it is not something that I use for at home makeup looks.) Recently, the Dip, Shape, Go! Longwear Brow Pomade from NYX caught my attention. Since I normally use pencils or powder products on my brows, it was a little exciting to put something different to the test. Ready to find out how this product performs? According to the brand, the Dip, Shape, Go! Longwear Brow Pomade from NYX is an all-in-one eyebrow tool. It comes in several different colours, but the one that I chose is Ash Brown. If I were to repurchase, then I would choose a darker colour now that my hair colour is a bit darker than it was before. All that said, there are eight shades in total, so it is possible for most to find a match. (That being said, there is nothing that would be suitable for red heads, as most colours there suit blonde, brown, and black hair.) Other claims for the brand? That the Dip, Shape, Go! Longwear Brow Pomade is ultra-saturated, waterproof, and comes with "a precision angled brush for filling in eyebrows and a spoolie for taming. Ultra-high pigment, ultra-long lasting, no hassle, and no tools needed." It comes with an angled brush, spoolie, and the brow pomade. 

When it comes to application, it is nice that there is the angled brush and spoolie to use. That makes this a useful product for travel, since all of your must-have brow tools are available. That being said, the angled brush has a lot of flexibility, which makes it difficult to apply the product with precision. While the product can be used to quickly fill in brows, if there is any reshaping that you want to do, then this is not a useful item. The applicator was not precise enough to reshape or refine. The pomade itself it decent and it lasts for a good amount of time, but the Dip, Shape, Go! Longwear Brow Pomade did not wow me. Since an Essence brow pencil can outshine this product (it is simpler to use, more effective, and more affordable) this is not something that I would consider repurchasing in the future. I will certainly use what I have for those at home days, but this is not an eyebrow product that I would reach for when heading out somewhere. At least now I know that it isn't for me!
