There is no better way to celebrate the summer season than with an extra hint of sparkle. The way glitter shines in the sunlight just makes the world seem brighter and more beautiful. Thankfully, body shimmer products are easy to find. Best of all? There are countless budget friendly options available. If you are looking for some stellar shimmers that will give your next look that extra oomph...look no further. Here are a few liquid products and a couple of powder products to consider. There are options from Hard Candy, Bath & Body Works, and Avon. Keep in mind, the most expensive is $16.50 and the least expensive is $7. So whatever your budget allows....it is possible to find something spectacularly shimmery.

Hard Candy Body Luminizer in Champagne. One fantastic drugstore option is from Hard Candy. Their Body Luminizers are absolutely fantastic. It is available in two different shades but the champagne shade, shown above, is a personal favourite. Not only does it smell like coconut but it adds tons of easy-to-wear shimmer and shine. That makes it easy to apply and distribute the product wherever you want. It blends easily into the skin and is designed to have a transfer-resistant formula. Everything about this product screams summer to me. Between that gorgeous coconut scent, the soft champagne shimmer, and the fact that this is less than $10....this is the ideal drugstore add-on.

Bath & Body Works Diamond Shimmer Mist. Though the shimmer mist pictured above is in the scent Frosted Coconut Snowball (clearly I have a thing for coconut scents)....Bath & Body Works has a ton of different options. In fact, most of their scents are available in the shimmer mist formula. That means you can choose whatever scent you like. And enjoy all of the fabulous shimmer that goes along with it! Essentially, the Diamond Shimmer Mist a shimmery liquid. It has a the consistency of water so it is not as thick as the previous Hard Candy item. It is the most expensive of the four on this list, as it costs $16.50 per bottle. The packaging is super simple with a basic plastic bottle and a clear spray pump at the top but the product itself is incredible. This is by far the fastest way to get your shimmer on. All you do is spray once or twice on your arms or wherever you want to add shimmer. In less than thirty seconds, it dries completely and looks great.



















Hard Candy x Marilyn Monroe Body Powder. The Hard Candy and Marilyn Monroe collection is fairly new. (You can check out my Hard Candy Haul over on my YouTube channel.) One of the products from that collection was the Luminizing Light Airy Body Powder + Rosehip Oil in the shade Sparkling Strawberry. It is a stunning soft powder body shimmer that adds tons of sparkle. It blends into the skin easily, comes in a beautiful glittery golden colour, and smells subtle but sweet. It goes on so smoothly and really just effortlessly adds shimmer to the skin. It retails for a mere $7 which makes it the most affordable option on this list of affordable body shimmers. The packaging is simple but the Marilyn Monroe print and autographed logo on the top makes this stand out from similar products. For application, you can certainly use your fingers or a small makeup brush to dramatically target a specific area (like the collarbones) but a large fluffy brush works best for an all-over finish.

Avon Iconic Body Shimmer. Rounding off the list is the Iconic Body Shimmer from Avon. This is an ultra unique item yet it still makes the list of affordable options. It costs $15 and has a brush included. Essentially, the bottom portion of the packaging has rose-pink almost light purple coloured shimmery powder. You tilt and tap the brush against the wrist until you can see that powder start to come through. Once it does? The brush is used to apply the shimmery powder all over the face and body. The concept is really smart and this is very user friendly. I also love the colour of that shimmer. It looks so romantic and feminine on the skin. Additionally, the brush portion can be removed from the product on the bottom. That makes it possible to clean the brush in between uses. This is a wonderful way to achieve some stunning summer shimmer.
