ariana grande CLOUD eau de parfum (review)

Out of all the starlets making a splash on the charts these days, Ariana Grande certainly stands out. Her last two singles went straight to number one and she recently released another perfume. Cloud is described as an "uplifting scent that imbues a thoughtful, artistic expression of positivity and happiness." That is one really long way of saying this scent is bright and sweet! Before the holidays, I tested out this particular perfume and instantly fell in love with the bottle and fragrance. Though I immediately loved it, the price was as bit steep. So I was extremely grateful to be given a bottle of Cloud for Christmas. This is something I have been using a lot lately....so I decided to do a proper review here on the creation of beauty is art. 

To start with, there is the packaging and bottle itself. It came in a holographic blue box with an almost alien-esque picture of Ariana Grande (and her signature ponytail) on the back. Then inside there is a round clear blue bottle with a cloud shaped topper. It sits inside a thick white plastic container, shaped like clouds, of course! The bottle can it on its own or stay inside the cloud inspired base. Personally, I love having it displayed in my perfume collection with both the bottle and base. It looks so cute and fun. In terms of packaging - along with the bottle and display - this is a winner.

Now for the actual scent. It is described as having a blend of lavender blossom, juicy pear, bergamot, creme de coconut, praline, vanilla orchid, and cashmere base notes. All of the ingredients blended together create a bright, playful, and sweet scent. To me, this perfume smells like cotton candy. It is so sweet and sugary but this has a real warmth to it as well. Cloud is ideal for daytime and will fit especially well into sunny spring and summer days. (Ones that I hope are right around the corner. The winter has been brutal where I live.) It is light and doesn't smell overpowering. That being said, it lasts well and doesn't need to be reapplied as the day goes on.

Cloud is a fabulous perfume. One that I have been enjoying a lot lately. It's sweetness makes me smile and I know it will continue to be a favourite as the seasons start to change.
