revisited review: my three most used spooky aroma oils

Spooky season is here again. Thank goodness! It has been difficult to make time for all of the Halloween festivities, but I am doing my best to incorporate seasonal moments into my days. One example? The Spooky Aroma Oils set. This is something that I purchased last year (check out that post here) and have made good use of ever since. I love filling my home with different scents. The one that I choose for the day depends entirely on my mood. It might be an essential oil blend, like one from the Spooky Aroma Oils set or one of the many Walt Disney World inspired blends in my collection, or it might be a scented candle from Bath & Body Works. No matter what, there is some sort of wonderful scent making the days feel a little more intentional. On that note, here are three of the most used Spooky Aroma Oils from this Halloween themed set.

As a reminder, there were five essential oil blends in the Spooky Aroma Oils set from DW Home, including Ghost Stories, Fright Night, Dark Forest, Midnight Hour, and Wicked Pumpkin. All of them smell incredible and are inspired by this oh-so-spooky time of year. While all of these essential oil blends are wonderful, there are three that have been used most often since this time last year. It is Ghost Stories, Wicked Pumpkin, and Midnight Hour that remained in the heaviest rotation.

  • Ghost Stories. As a reminder, Ghost Stories is described as "heavy cream and vanilla bean with hints of nutmeg and brown sugar." I have had a bit of an obsession with vanilla based scents in recent years, so it is no surprise that Ghost Stories has been an absolute must. I love that this essential oil blend is warm and inviting. It is also sweet and comforting. It makes me think of an adult version of trick or treating. This is easily my most used oil from the DW Home set. There are so many mornings when this blend is selected. It instantly makes me more relaxed.
  • Wicked Pumpkin. Another favourite is Wicked Pumpkin, because nothing is more fall themed than a pumpkin scent. This particular one is described as "harvest pumpkin and velvety vanilla with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove." This is not heavy on the cinnamon, but the pumpkin and vanilla come through nicely with just a splash of the spices mentioned. I love to have this aroma oil in my diffuser when I am watching something Halloween themed, like Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown. It makes watching a movie feel more like a seasonal experience.
  • Midnight Hour. Last on this list is Midnight Hour, which is described as "mahogany and citrus-infused lavender with teak and ambered musk." I love how bright and uplifting this scent is, while still feeling spooky season adjacent. It is a nice change from some of the other essential oils in my collection. Sometimes, a scent like this is necessary, especially when you need a little pick me up first thing in the morning. It is both energizing and comforting.

Are there any spooky season scents that you reach for at this time of year? Do you like to use essential oil blends?

I would love the Wicked Pumpkin because pumpkin is my favourite scent in the Fall / Halloween season. But the others are also great =)

  2. Ghost Stories and Wicked Pumpkin sound like warm, spicy scents. I can't quite picture Midnight Hour, though—but thanks to the teak wood and musk, the combination with citrusy nuances might actually be very pleasant. 💕
