#FOTD: inspired by kermit the frog (green makeup look)

It's not easy being green...but life seems pretty wonderful for beloved icon, Kermit the Frog. There is a new Muppets themed rollercoaster in the works at Walt Disney World, The Muppet Show special received positive reviews and high ratings, and tomorrow is Kermit the Frog's birthday. Well, sort of. May 9, 1955, was the first time that Kermit appeared on television screens. Since my obsession with all things Muppets remains, it seemed like an appropriate time to create a makeup look inspired by this important character. This Kermit inspired #FOTD post is focused on green, green, and more green.

To create this Kermit the Frog inspired makeup look, several items from my makeup collection were used. I wanted lots of different green colours, so it was the Pro Palette Volume 2 from the ABH Norvina Collection selected. This particular eyeshadow palette has lots of different matte and shimmer shades of green to choose from. I also used the Liquid Eyeliner in Run For The Hills from the Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers line to bring in even more of that green colour. To make this colourful makeup look a little more wearable, there were some warm colours pulled in as well, like the Matte Bouncy Blush in Worth from Rare Beauty and the Lip Liner in True Brown K from Kylie Cosmetics. Ready to see how the makeup look came together?

To create the look above, it all started with the eyes. There are many different shades of green included in the Pro Palette Volume 2, but it was the lighter green shades that seemed most Kermit inspired. B1 (light green shimmer) was applied to the inner portion of the lid and then B3 (medium matte green) was applied to the rest. There was a small amount of E1 (darker green shimmer) added to the outer corner and along the lower lash line. Some A3 (yellow-green shimmer) was added on the brow bone and to the inner corner. There was black eyeliner added, as usual, but some of the green liquid eyeliner, Run For The Hills, was also added to the ends for an extra pop of colour. Mascara finished off the eye look. The blush from Rare Beauty was applied to the cheeks and a bit of the A3 eyeshadow was added for a subtle green shimmer. Then the Lip Liner in True Brown K was applied and a bit of green eyeshadow was added to the center of the lips to add a hint of that Kermit-esque colour. It was fun to do something that was different, colourful, and creative. The Muppets are always a source of inspiration.
