my first order from main street melts candle co.

The post-Walt Disney World blues have been extreme this time around. After a visit to the most magical place on Earth, it is common for me to feel a little sad adjusting back to the real world. However, knowing there will not be a return trip for several years really got me in my feelings. That is how I found myself searching for Walt Disney World inspired scents on Etsy shortly after returning back home. Enter the Main Street Melts Candle Co. The company has all sorts of Disney inspired items, including candles, melts, room sprays, and oils. Since I have a diffuser that has been neglected in recent months, it seemed wise to focus on some of the available oils. Though there were many that caught my eye (and many that will be ordered in the future) my first order included ten different essential oil blends. It took about twenty three days for the oils to arrive, which was not too bad, and everything was well packed. Each essential oil bottle has a cute Disney inspired label and there is a generous amount of oil provided. Keep reading for a mini review of each Main Street Melts Candle Co. item in my order.

As mentioned, there were ten essential oil blends added to my Etsy cart this time around - and I already have a list of others that I would like to add to a future cart! Here are reviews of the oils I have been able to try from Main Street Melts Candle Co.

  • Mousekeeping. The first essential oil that was added to my diffuser was Mousekeeping, which has "bright top notes of lemon, crisp apple green, and ozone." It is described as a fresh linen aroma and that describes it perfectly. This smells so bright and fresh. It reminds me of getting back to the Walt Disney World hotel at the end of a long park day. Instantly, it made me feel relaxed and pampered. This is one that I have been reaching for often.
  • The Grey Stuff. My obsession with The Grey Stuff started on my honeymoon ten years back. We had a dinner reservation at the Be Our Guest restaurant and the dessert came with The Grey Stuff. (And yes, it is delicious!) It is something that I love to enjoy on each Walt Disney World vacation, so an essential oil that smells like that tasty treat was a must. This is described as "creamy, heavy chocolatey fudge whipped into a fluffy light creamy aroma," and that is exactly it. This is the perfect imitation. It is chocolatey and warm and makes my home smell divine.
  • Haunted Holidays. I love The Haunted Mansion ride and I love Christmas, so it only made sense to add the Haunted Holidays scent to my shopping cart. It was the scent description that really made me curious: "Spooky and festive, this fragrance combines the spiced warmth of gingerbread, swirls of vanilla sugar, with hints of musty dusty notes." I absolutely had to know what musty dusty notes smelled like when combined with my favourite seasonal scents. Haunted Holidays smells like Christmas with a twist. Those musty dusty notes add just the right complexity. This is such a wonderful way to feel both festive and frightful. It is sure to satisfy all fall and winter.
  • Pandora Banshee Flight. One of my favourite rides in Walt Disney World is Avatar Flight of Passage. It manages to feel so real. Whenever I am on that ride, somehow, I feel free. It is so immersive and the scent is part of that experience. The Pandora Banshee Flight oil is a "captivating and earthly oakmoss scent that begins with hints of orange, grapefruit, and an infusion of sage that enhances the natural earthly quality over a breezy aquatic base." The last time that I visited Walt Disney World, there was a Pandora scented candle for sale that I bought. It has never been lit, because I am so terrified of running out, so I start my day by taking the lid off of the candle and smelling it. Weird, I know, but it smells amazing and reminds me of being on the ride. My hope was that the oil would be similar and I could better enjoy the scent. After a direct comparison between the official candle and this oil, it is extremely similar. The difference is that the Disney version is a little bit brighter while the oil is a little bit warmer. However, the difference is very slight and this is a really great version. My home smells fabulous!
  • Jungle Cruising. The Jungle Cruise ride is a standout in general and I love the smell of the water-based rides at Walt Disney World. This has "tropical palm, hibiscus, jungle greens, and fresh rainwaters," and smells wonderful. It is fresh and bright...and makes me feel like I am back in the theme park listening to all sorts of puns.
  • Splash Mountain. Speaking of water-based rides, Splash Mountain was a favourite of mine, though it has been replaced with Tiana's Bayou Adventure. In memory of this beloved ride, it seemed appropriate to test out the Splash Mountain blend. This is described as "a nostalgic and refreshing crisp water fragrance." It definitely feels nostalgic and comforting. I love how bright and fresh it is. This is such an uplifting and memorable blend.
  • Happy Haunts. As mentioned, The Haunted Mansion is a favourite, so in addition to the holiday version, the classic version also was added to my shopping cart. This themed scent has "an accord of antiqued fragrances with a musky base made from sustainably harvested sandalwood, cedarwood, and mahogany woods." Being honest...this is my least favourite of the ten oils. It has a very strong scent and it almost smells like there is rose thrown into the mix. Not my favourite, but nine out of ten is not bad. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to scents, so it might be something that one of my Disney obsessed loved ones might enjoy more than me.
  • Soar Over Fiji. There is this moment during the Soarin' Around The World ride that I love. When the camera takes you over Fiji, there is a scent that is sprayed, and it smells so incredible. This oil is intended to bring that scent home. According to the brand, it has "fresh ocean breeze with a top note of apple, melon, orange, and bergamot. The heart blends lavender and bois de rose." This smells exactly like the ride. It is just 100% spot on. It takes me right back to that moment where I am Soarin' Around The World and I am looking at the beautiful scenery.
  • Happily Ever After.  It is hard to explain how magical it feels to walk around Walt Disney World. There is so much to look at, so much to do, and so much to smell! Happily Ever After has a "traditional base of vanilla custard and smoothly blends in hints of caramelized sugar." To me, this reminds me of walking down Main Street. It feels like I am passing by all of the different bakeries while their warm delicious scents pull me to the window displays.
  • Spaceship Earth. I saved the best for last. Spaceship Earth is a ride that I did not appreciate as much in my youth, but as I have gotten older, it has become a ride that I love deeply. I have a soft spot for the narration, scenes, music, stars, and scents. The Spaceship Earth oil has the following description: "This scent melds notes of smoke and wood into a warm union of clove, amber, sandalwood, and patchouli." It is intended to mimic the Rome Burning Scene and it does that flawlessly. This oil is incredible and easily my favourite of the ten that I ordered.
My overall experience with Main Street Melts Candle Co. has been extremely positive. The oils are wonderful and take me back to a place that has made me so very happy. I am extremely grateful for these scents and have been making the most of them from the moment they arrived. In the fall, my plan is to order a few more for myself (Frontierland, Living With The Land, and Tiki Room are a few examples) and a few for my loved ones. All I can say is thank goodness for the creative people at Main Street Melts Candle Co. who made these essential oil blends. I almost feel like I am back at the most magical place on earth.

Have you ever purchased a theme park scent? What do you think of these Walt Disney World inspired items?
