Sometimes, a purchase is impulsive. Other times, it requires careful thought and consideration. The latter was certainly true when it came to the Norvina eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. From the moment it was released... I was intrigued. The soft purple packaging, the combination of shimmers and mattes, and the beautiful colour story called to me. But I wasn't exactly hurting for eyeshadow shades. So, I waited. And then I waited some more. Recently, I was in the middle of placing an order for a few essentials on the Sephora website. Sometimes, life calls for a little colour. The summer season is well underway and I have been reaching for more colourful beauty products as a result. An eyeshadow palette with red, blue, green, pink, and glitter? Well, there certainly isn't an expected colour story in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Collection Mini Pro Pigment Palette Vol. 3. This release shares some similarities to the Mini Pro Pigment Palette Vol. 1, which was reviewed on the creation of beauty is art. not too long ago. (In case you missed that review, you can check it out here.) There are nine eyeshadows in total, a variety of finishes, and the palette itself is quite compact. There are also some pigments and some eyeshadows. Five of the shadows are traditional eyeshadows and the other four shades are pressed pigments. welcome summer + colourful seasonal makeup look

Hello summer! It is official. The summer season has arrived. For a lot of people, this is the best time of the year. School is out, the sun is shining, and there are fun seasonal activities to enjoy. Though I am looking forward to a few events over the next couple of months, my heart is dreaming of fallen leaves, crisp air, and sweater weather. I am definitely a fall and winter kind of person. Ahh well. Fingers crossed this summer will be a great one anyway. To welcome in a fresh new season, it only made sense to incorporate a little colour into a recent makeup look. The Pro Pigment Palette Volume 3 from the ABH Norvina Collection is bright, bold, and ideal for this time of year. Keep reading for a mini review and sunshine inspired makeup look.

#FOTD: inspired by kermit the frog (green makeup look)

It's not easy being green...but life seems pretty wonderful for beloved icon, Kermit the Frog. There is a new Muppets themed rollercoaster in the works at Walt Disney World, The Muppet Show special received positive reviews and high ratings, and tomorrow is Kermit the Frog's birthday. Well, sort of. May 9, 1955, was the first time that Kermit appeared on television screens. Since my obsession with all things Muppets remains, it seemed like an appropriate time to create a makeup look inspired by this important character. This Kermit inspired #FOTD post is focused on green, green, and more green.

psyduck (pokemon) inspired makeup look

Pokémon is not something that I have meaningfully engaged with over the years, but my husband plays all sorts of Pokémon games on the Nintendo Switch. Every now and then, there will be a cute character that catches my eye. (Some of the characters are ridiculously adorable.) That is what happened with Psyduck. I saw this cute little duck character waddling around and holding his head. My husband informed me that Psyduck gets headaches and holds onto his head until he releases tension with his strong psychic powers. I was immediately enamored with this character, from design to personality. So, my very thoughtful husband ordered me a little Psyduck plush. He arrived fairly quickly and has been keeping me company ever since. There are a handful of yellow eyeshadows in my makeup collection that I have not used all that frequently - and the arrival of Psyduck seemed like a good reason to put them to use.
