I can't believe that it is the start of another week already - this weekend really flew by! I mixed business with pleasure, being productive and social. I hope you all enjoyed your weekends! For today's post, I wanted to let you know about a wonderful charity in the UK.
With thousands of young British service men and women still posted in war zones abroad and with funding becoming more and more tight, it has never been more important to both support our active troops and also remember those lost in years gone by.
Thankfully, there are plenty of charities working incredibly hard to help us do exactly this. Whether it be ABF – The Soldier’s Charity (previously the Army Benevolent Fund), where you can donate a monthly amount to support a range of causes, or the Royal British Legion, working to help ex servicemen and women who are struggling with life after the armed services.
There are many ways you can help remember lost loved ones, be it volunteering work for an associated charity, visiting memorial sites, buying a poppy or donating on a monthly basis. All will be greatly appreciated and all do make a difference.
One company that really are doing their bit is popular jewellers ‘Pandora’. Their Pandora bracelets have been hugely fashionable over the last few years, with the idea being you can purchase a ‘charm’ for a loved one to add to their bracelet. As part of the new partnership, Pandora have released in association with ABF the British Rose charm. So buy a British Rose Charm and 15% of the sale value will be donated to ABF The Soldiers Charity to help support families affected by the AFGHANISTAN WAR amongst other causes.
ABF currently raise £7 million per year and aim to raise £14 million per year from 2015 onwards and with your help can do so. It will not be easy, however, having seen a 30% rise over the past two years in applications from soldiers serving in current and previous conflicts they are always looking for additional funding. You can help by becoming a Volunteer, Corporate Partner or Fundraiser.
Visit www.soldierscharity.org/get-involved and download a fundraising pack to help out or alternatively join their Facebook page to get regular updates on events and fundraisers in your area.
I hope you all have a great Monday!
